Today, we celebrate the power of education.
Education is more than classrooms, certificates, or exams.
It is access.
It is opportunity, and
It is the difference between limitation and possibility.
At Thinking Cap Literacy Initiative, we believe education is the foundation for building confident individuals, thriving communities, and a future where everyone has a fair chance to succeed.
Every child deserves the right tools, the right guidance, and the right environment to learn, grow, and dream boldly.
This International Day of Education, we reaffirm our commitment to empowering minds, unlocking potential, and shaping futures, one learner at a time.
Indeed, education transforms lives. And we invite you and you to join us so that together, we will make it accessible!

The children at Thinking Cap Literacy Initiative (TCLI) recently went on an exciting excursion to the Jos Wildlife Park, and it was the perfect way to close the year.
After spending so much time learning and growing in the library, it was important for them to step outside and experience nature in a new and engaging way.
The trip gave them the chance to see animals they’ve only read about, explore the outdoors, and enjoy the simple joy of being kids.
Beyond the fun, it helped them connect learning with real-life experiences, showing that education also happens through adventure, discovery, and the world around us.
Happy holiday season from all of us at Thinking Cap Literacy Initiative

In today’s digital world, some people think libraries are old-fashioned.
But for many children in our community, a library is the only place where they can touch books, read freely, and discover knowledge.
Cap Literacy Initiative is more than a room of books, it’s a safe space where children grow, learn, and dream.

For a child, regardless the age;
Reading is more than just recognizing words on a page. It’s about opening doors to new worlds, building confidence, and helping children dream beyond their surroundings.
At our library, we’re creating a space where children not only read, but also fall in love with books. 💙
Do you remember the first book you read as a child?
Share it with us in the comments, we’d love to know!

Dear Parent,
When you give your child a book, you’re giving them more than just pages to read; you’re giving them a better chance in life.
When you bring them to our FREE community library, you’re opening their minds to new ideas, creativity, and possibilities.
When you support education, you’re not only helping your child, but you’re also lifting the whole community.
But we can’t do this alone. Together, we can raise a generation of readers and learners who will change the future.
Speaking of parents, we were honored to welcome the mother of our Executive Director, Mummy Esta Vihishima… 💙 She came to see the library, read to the children, and share words of encouragement with them.
Thank you, Ma’am, for showing love and support to the kids.
Moments like this remind us that when parents and the community join hands, education becomes even more powerful.

At Thinking Cap Literacy Initiative (TCLI), we believe transformation begins with the mind, and the best way to shape the mind is through consistent, meaningful learning experiences.
Every week at our FREE Community Library in Nabor Hwoll, Jos, children from the neighborhood gather for moments that do more than fill time; they shape character, build skills, and plant seeds for a brighter future.
We engage the children in activities like
Drawing Time: we give children the space to express themselves through art, unlocking creativity and helping them see the beauty in their own ideas.
Read Aloud Time: we share stories together, building vocabulary, sparking imagination, and helping children fall in love with reading, a skill that will follow them all their lives.
Lastly, Devotion Time: we start from the heart, teaching values, gratitude, and faith, because transformation is deeper than academics; it’s about raising children who are wise, grounded, and compassionate.
These activities may seem small, but to the children in our community, they are building blocks for a lifetime of possibilities. They encourage focus in school, improve confidence, and show each child that they matter.
We have seen lives already being touched, and with your support, we can reach even more children across Plateau State.
