I had the honour of hosting the Namibian High Commissioner to Nigeria, H.E. Walde Natangwe Ndevashiya, as we began discussions on a strategic partnership between Plateau State and the Republic of Namibia.

Our engagement focused on tourism, mining, wildlife conservation, livestock development, agriculture, and intra-African trade, key sectors that hold immense potential for economic growth and job creation.

Having witnessed Namibia’s remarkable success in wildlife conservation and tourism, I am excited about the opportunities this partnership presents for Plateau State, particularly as we continue efforts to revitalise our tourism assets and attract investment.

Africa’s prosperity lies in stronger collaboration among African nations. Plateau State is ready to build meaningful partnerships that drive development, unlock opportunities, and create shared prosperity.

The Time Is Now.

Today, I joined the Deputy Governor, Ngo Josephine Piyo, and the good people of Plateau State in thanksgiving to God as we marked three years in office.

As I reflect on this journey, my heart is filled with gratitude to Almighty God for His faithfulness, guidance, and sustaining grace through the challenges, victories, and responsibilities of leadership. From the 2023 elections and the legal battles that followed to the security challenges confronting our state, God has remained our strength and refuge.

Over the past three years, we have made significant investments in healthcare, education, agriculture, transportation, tourism, water supply, and peacebuilding. We have paid over ₦16 billion in pensions and gratuities, provided more than ₦4 billion in medical support to vulnerable citizens, expanded access to clean water, improved healthcare services, and continued rebuilding hope across our communities.

The images of women dancing after water returned to communities that had gone nearly two decades without public supply remain some of the most powerful reminders of why we serve. Equally unforgettable are the sacrifices of women, youths, and children who stood firm in faith and solidarity during the period leading to the Supreme Court’s reaffirmation of our mandate. Their support will forever remain etched in my heart.

As we enter our fourth year, I renew my commitment to defending the heritage of Plateau State, giving our people a voice, protecting our communities, and working tirelessly to build a peaceful, united, and prosperous Plateau for all.

To every Plateau citizen, thank you for your trust, prayers, sacrifices, and unwavering support. Together, by God’s grace, we will continue to move Plateau State forward.

Today, as we mark our third anniversary in office, I remain deeply grateful to God and to the good people of Plateau State for your trust, support, resilience, and belief in this journey.

Three years ago, you entrusted me with the responsibility of leading our beloved Plateau State with a shared vision of hope, restoration, peace, and progress.

These past three years have not been without challenges. We faced insecurity, economic hardship, attacks on innocent communities, and political and legal distractions. Yet, through it all, we remained focused and determined to build a more peaceful, united, secure, and prosperous Plateau State.

As an administration, we have continued to take deliberate steps toward restoring hope and rebuilding confidence in governance. In security, we revitalised Operation Rainbow, recruited and trained over 2,000 community volunteers, strengthened collaboration with security agencies, and deployed modern surveillance technology to improve intelligence gathering and response across the state.

We have also remained committed to restoring dignity and hope to displaced communities through rebuilding efforts and humanitarian support initiatives across affected local governments.

In education, we reduced tuition fees by 50% for Plateau indigenes in state-owned tertiary institutions, increased scholarship funding, renovated and constructed classrooms, and expanded opportunities for students within and outside Nigeria.

In healthcare, we upgraded the Plateau Specialist Hospital with modern equipment, recruited qualified medical personnel, expanded health insurance coverage, and improved healthcare facilities across the state.

Through the Tin City Metro Transport Service and partnerships with airline operators, we have improved transportation and eased the burden on our people. We also continued investing in agriculture through the recovery of farmlands, distribution of subsidised fertilisers, mechanised farming support, and ongoing agro-processing projects.

Across the state, road construction projects, water schemes, rural electrification initiatives, tourism development, urban renewal projects, and environmental sanitation efforts are gradually transforming our communities and laying stronger foundations for the future.

Certainly, we have not yet reached the mountaintop, but we are no longer in the valley. Step by step, we are rebuilding Plateau together.

Plateau is rising again, and with your continued support, unity, and faith, we will keep moving forward toward a more peaceful, stronger, and prosperous future for all.

God bless Plateau State.

MY DEEPEST APPRECIATION TO MEMBERS OF THE APC, THE GOOD PEOPLE OF PLATEAU STATE, AND NIGERIANS.

I give all glory to Almighty God for His mercy and for bringing us this far in our journey of leadership and service to Plateau State.

I am deeply humbled by the overwhelming support shown by members of the APC across the 17 Local Government Areas during the gubernatorial primary election held on Thursday, May 21, 2026. The love, prayers, and encouragement from Plateau people and Nigerians at home and abroad have been truly remarkable.

This victory belongs to every party faithful, supporter, stakeholder, youth, woman, elder, and volunteer who believed in our shared vision for a peaceful, prosperous, and united Plateau State.

I sincerely appreciate the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for his support and confidence, as well as the National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda Goshwe, party leaders at all levels, electoral committees, security agencies, and everyone who ensured a peaceful process.

I also commend my fellow aspirant, Yilcini Jan Bida, for his sportsmanship and contribution to the democratic process. As we move forward, let us remain united because there is no victor and no vanquished.

To all party members and the good people of Plateau State, the task ahead is greater, and together we will continue building a peaceful, secure, inclusive, and prosperous state filled with opportunities for all.

Thank you for this great honor and responsibility. I remain committed to serving with integrity, humility, fairness, and dedication.

May God bless Plateau State and the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

“…Since these attacks began, I have remained in close contact with security agencies and local authorities to ensure swift response measures...”

Following the recent attacks in Nding community of Barkin Ladi and Ngbrazongo village in Bassa Local Government Area, I visited the affected communities to personally sympathize with grieving families, survivors, and community leaders, and to reassure them that the Plateau State Government will not abandon them in this difficult time.

No community on the Plateau should live in fear. Since these attacks began, I have remained in close contact with security agencies and local authorities to ensure a swift response. I commend the security personnel for preventing the situation from escalating further, while also directing that any operative found complicit in these attacks must be investigated and brought to justice.

At the strategic security stakeholders’ meeting held in Barkin Ladi with religious leaders, traditional rulers, youth representatives, and community stakeholders, I reaffirmed that perpetrators of violence and terror across Plateau State will not escape justice.

As part of measures to restore order and strengthen security, I reiterated the ban on night mining activities, directing that all mining operations must end by 5:00 p.m. daily. I also reaffirmed the ban on night grazing and prohibited grazing by underage children.

Plateau State will not surrender to criminality. We remain committed to strengthening our security architecture, protecting vulnerable communities, and ensuring lasting peace across the state.

I also assured farmers that the government is taking steps to secure farming communities ahead of the planting season and support agricultural activities through fertilizer subsidy interventions.

I appreciate the support of the Honourable Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Dr. Bernard Doro, as well as the Plateau Youth Council (PYC), CAN, JNI, traditional institutions, and all stakeholders working toward peace and stability in our state.

It is with a profound sense of humility and rare privilege that I had the honour of representing our revered father, the distinguished leader of the Middle Belt, an African statesman per Excellent and an accomplished philanthropist, General Theophilus Yakubu Danjuma, at the 2026 Nwonyo Fishing Festival, held at Nwonyo Creek in Ibi, Taraba State

This revered cultural festival stands as a powerful symbol of unity and peace, consistently attracting both local and international tourists and firmly placing Taraba State on the global map. With a rich history spanning over a century, the fishing festival traces its origin to Bula Wurbo in 1861, reflecting a long-standing tradition deeply rooted in the identity of the people.

The festival remains a living testament to our enduring heritage, an expression of cultural pride that not only preserves our traditions but also serves as a vital source of livelihood for the people.
I extend my sincere appreciation to my brother, Governor Agbu Kefas, for his visionary leadership in reviving and rebranding the festival, thereby creating renewed economic opportunities and promoting cultural tourism in Taraba State.

In addition, I had the honour of representing the Nigeria Governors' Forum in solidarity with Governor Agbu Kefas, reaffirming our collective commitment to support initiatives that advance tourism and sustainable development in the state.

From our standpoint in Plateau State, we remain dedicated to strengthening inter-state collaboration and partnerships that will uplift our people and lift them out of the shackles of poverty.

The event was graced by an array of distinguished personalities. The President of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, was represented by the Honourable Minister of Art, Culture, Tourism and the Creative Economy, Hannatu Musa Musawa. The President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama, was also represented, while the Prime Minister of Grenada, Dickon Mitchell, alongside other distinguished guests, graced the historic festival.

Today, I had the privilege of witnessing the exchange of marital vows between Temitope Samuel Afolabi and Tislo Emmanuel Piyo, son of the Deputy Governor, Her Excellency, Ngo Josephine Piyo.

This union, built on a firm foundation in God, will further strengthen bonds of love and social cohesion; not only between the two families but also between the people of Plateau State in the Middle Belt and those of South-Western Nigeria.

The wedding was thoughtfully postponed in honour of the victims of the Angwan Rukuba tragic incident. I pray that God, who watches over every city and its people, will continue to guard Plateau State and richly bless this union with peace, love, and enduring joy.

On behalf of my wife and the good people of Plateau State, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the newly wedded couple and their families on this remarkable milestone. May God guide them and grant them a fulfilling and blessed marital journey.

I convened a strategic meeting with distinguished leaders and former Governors of Plateau State on Tuesday at the Government House, Little Rayfield, Jos. The meeting deliberated extensively on matters concerning the well-being, welfare, progress, and overall prosperity of the people of Plateau State.

The high-level engagement critically reviewed the prevailing security situation, particularly the recent violent attacks in rural communities across the state. Discussions were focused on fostering sustainable peace, strengthening unity, and promoting harmonious coexistence among all residents.

The leaders collectively resolved to pursue justice for all and to establish robust frameworks that reflect the enduring courage, discipline, hospitality and patriotism of the Plateau people within the Nigerian project. Emphasis was also placed on rebuilding fractured relationships and restoring trust, with the aim of reinforcing Plateau State’s longstanding identity as the Home of Peace and Prosperity.

Today, I visited President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to brief him on the Palm Sunday night attack in the Angwan Rukuba community of Jos North Local Government Area, and to update him on the proactive measures we have taken to address the situation. The incident was deeply unfortunate, but we thank God that the situation has now been brought under control.

In response to the attack, we swiftly implemented several proactive steps, including the imposition of a 48-hour curfew, the reinforcement of the existing ban on motorcycle operations within the Greater Jos Master Plan, and the immediate convening of a State Security Council meeting to review and strengthen our security framework to prevent further escalation.

This morning, we relaxed the curfew from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. to allow residents attend to essential activities. Regrettably, some miscreants took advantage of this window to engage in looting and attempt to disrupt the peace. I am, however, pleased to report that our security forces responded promptly and restored order without delay.

The President expressed his support for the decisive measures we have put in place to contain the situation and prevent a recurrence of such unfortunate incidents. He also offered valuable counsel on strategies to achieve lasting peace in the state and extended his heartfelt condolences to the victims and the people of Plateau State.

Deeply moved by the situation, the President has graciously adjusted his schedule to undertake an emergency visit to Plateau State as a demonstration of his concern, solidarity, and commitment to the people. He has also approved additional measures to be implemented in collaboration with security agencies to further stabilize the situation.

31/03/2026

My dear people of Plateau State, I address you on the tragic incident in Angwan Rukuba, Jos North, with a heavy heart, expressing my deep sorrow over the loss of innocent lives and extending my heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families, while wishing the injured a speedy recovery.

I assure you of the swift and decisive actions taken to restore calm, including strengthened security measures and ongoing efforts to bring the perpetrators to justice.

I also reaffirm my administration’s commitment to supporting victims and their families during this difficult time.
I urge us all to remain calm, vigilant, and united as we work together to preserve the peace, security, and harmony of our dear state.
