Knowledge. Dignity. Confidence.

200 girls. 2 schools. One powerful health talk.

Together with PPFN, DC Joy Foundation reached GSS Giring and GSS Hwolshe in Jos South LGA, giving girls:
• Sanitary pads to manage their periods
• Practical knowledge on menstrual & personal hygiene
• Confidence to understand their bodies and embrace their cycles

Because when girls are informed and supported, nothing can hold them back.

A woman is not just one story.
She is the girl who dared to dream beyond her circumstances.
She is the mother who sacrifices silently so her children can go further.
She is the young woman fighting to be heard in rooms that were never built for her.
She is resilience.
She is courage.
She is transformation.
Every empowered woman creates a ripple that touches families, communities, and generations.
At DC Joy Foundation, we believe that when a woman rises, an entire community rises with her.
So today we celebrate every woman who keeps going despite the odds.
Every woman building something bigger than herself.
Every woman who refuses to give up.
Because the world moves forward on the strength of women.
Happy International Women’s Day.

Today, DC Joy Foundation joins the world to commemorate themed “Hand in Hand for Better Food and a Better Future.”

As hunger and malnutrition continue to affect vulnerable families, we reaffirm our commitment to empowering women, strengthening livelihoods, and supporting sustainable food systems.
Together, hand in hand, we can create a future where every household has access to safe, nutritious, and affordable food. 💚

Commemorating the International Day of the Girl Child 🌸

To celebrate this year’s International Day of the Girl Child, DC Joy Foundation organized a Reproductive Health Talk for adolescent girls in classes 4–6.

Facilitated by the Planned Parenthood Federation of Nigeria (PPFN), the session focused on reproductive health education: menstrual hygiene - empowering the girls with accurate information, confidence, and the skills they need to make healthy choices.

At the end of the session, the girls were supported with sanitary pads to promote menstrual hygiene management and ensure no girl misses school because of her period.

Through our Girls Can Lead Club, we continue to equip adolescent girls with life skills, knowledge, and leadership abilities to help them realize their full potential and break barriers that limit their growth.

Together, we are investing in girls’ health, education, and leadership — because when girls are informed, confident, and supported, they can lead and thrive. 💪🏽💖

📚 Learn today, Lead tomorrow!

At DC Joy Foundation, we believe education is for everyone — regardless of age or background. That’s why under the SSPF DEC Project, we’ve registered two adult literacy centers in partnership with the Plateau State Agency for Adult and Non-Formal Education!

🌍 Locations:
📍 Anglo-Jos (for Anglo-Jos beneficiaries)
📍 Giring (serving both Giring & Dogon Karfe beneficiaries)

Here, 30 amazing women/caregivers supported with writing and learning materials are learning:
✏️ Basic literacy & numeracy (reading, writing, addition & subtraction)
👩‍👧 Positive parenting skills

And the best part? Other women from the community, inspired by this initiative, are also joining the classes — proving that the thirst for knowledge has no limits. 💪

Our goal? By December 2025, these women will not only boost their businesses and households but also support their children’s education through stronger literacy and parenting practices.

Every step they take in class is a step toward a brighter future — for themselves, their families, and their communities.

What happens when you invest in the well-being of teachers?
You unlock brighter, safer futures for children.

We were thrilled to train 30 passionate female teachers from Obasanjo Model School and Giring Primary School on Psychosocial Support (PSS) — giving them the tools to recognize signs of emotional distress, respond with empathy, and create safe, healing spaces for their pupils.

Facilitated by the incredible team at Bravechild, the one-day training was packed with insights, real-life strategies, and heartfelt conversations.

These women walked in as educators — and walked out as champions of emotional resilience. Now more than ever, children in their classrooms will be seen, heard, and supported.

Because when we empower teachers, we’re not just investing in education — we’re investing in hope.
