Finally, the Nigerian Government Gets it Right? 🤔
I was reading through the new Nigeria Tax Act 2025, and I saw something that made me pause.
For years, small business owners have complained about multiple taxes killing their profits. Well, starting January 2026, the story changes.
The new law is crystal clear: If your business revenue is ₦50 Million or less, your Corporate Income Tax is 0%.
The government has consolidated the old, messy laws into one clean playbook. They even introduced a new 4% Development Levy for big corporations, but guess what? Small businesses are completely safe from this extra cost.
Here is the "But" (And it's a big one):
Free tax does not mean freedom from rules.
The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) is not playing. You strictly MUST file your Annual Returns.
Think of it this way: The government is giving you a tax break, but in exchange, they want to know you still exist. If you don't file, you risk getting delisted.
📌 Save this post for your 2026 planning.

I need every small business owner in Nigeria to hear this. 2026 comes with a blessing: 0% Corporate Income Tax. It sounds too good to be true, right?
Well, here is the wahala.
Many of you will stop hiring accountants because "no tax." That is a su***de mission. The CAC is not playing. If you fail to file your Annual Returns because you thought "no tax means no filing," your company will be DELISTED.
Zero tax is useless if you have no business. File your returns.

Every business owner should see this...

Did you know? Now you know

Let me clear a major confusion before 2026 comes. The new Tax Act is a game-changer: Small businesses earning under ₦50M are exempt from Corporate Income Tax. That is money staying in your business account! 💰
But catch this sub:
Your Company is exempt. YOU (the owner) are not.
You must still pay your Personal Income Tax on the salary you pay yourself. And most importantly, you must keep your company alive by filing CAC Annual Returns.
The government is simplifying the laws, not removing them. Separate your business wallet from your pocket, keep your records clean, and enjoy the 0% CIT exemption responsibly!

Omo, the Nigeria Tax Act 2025 is actually looking sweet for us! Starting January 2026, if your business turnover is ₦50 Million or less, the government says your Corporate Income Tax is 0%. Even that new 4% Development Levy big companies are crying about? You are totally safe from it.
But here is the trap: Do not let "free tax" make you lazy.
To enjoy this benefit, you strictly MUST file your Annual Returns with the CAC. If you chop the 0% tax and ghost the CAC, they will simply delist your business name.
Enjoy the savings, but file your papers. Don't let village people win! 🇳🇬
