Relocate via Study!!!

We have seen many people applying for student visas rushing at the last minute.

This is a POOR idea. If you are thinking of relocating via the study route, you must start your university admissions a year+ early.

Gone are the days of those last-minute admissions.

Requirements for admission includes and not limited to:

▪ CV (can always do that for you)
▪ University certificate
▪ Transcript
▪ WAEC/NECO certificate
▪ Personal statement (can always do that for you as well!!)
▪ References

Do you need help relocating?

Travel Smart in 2021

2020 was indeed a year. COVID-19 took us all by surprise and we were not in any way prepared for the challenges that came with the year. 2021 is here but we still have a spillover of issues from 2020.

Sadly, the COVID-19 pandemic is still on the raise in so many countries. As of 20 January 2021, there are 94.9 million cases globally (according to WHO). American and European countries have the highest cases while African and western Pacific countries have minimal cases. Countries like Thailand, Syria and Cape Verde are close to foreigners while many others have strict travel restrictions for travelers.

Countries like the USA, Canada and some European Countries would allow returning citizens and also foreigners with valid Visas in as much as they are able to fulfill the travel requirements.

Why travel with us?

International travel will continue to contribute a great quota to the growth of Nigeria’s GDP. Air travel is one many people find appealing, not because of its affordability or the comfort but because it has been recorded as the fastest means of transportation.

According to the National Bureau of Statistics and the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria, they have shown that in 2017, 13,394,945 travelers have passed through the Nigerian airports. Many of which have traveled for different reasons ranging from shopping, visiting friends and family, business activities, education and training, and religious pilgrimage.

So many people apply for jobs they are more than suitable for, but fail to make it to interview stage, whilst others seem to get an invite for every application they submit.

I have a few tips you might find useful:
(a) Tailor your CV - make sure your CV shows all of the skills the employer is asking for in the job description. If they can't see it on your CV, they will think that you cannot do what they require.

(b) Cover Letter - If the application requires a cover letter, make sure it picks out the key skills asked for in the job description and shows how you have used these skills. It should also demonstrate any achievements you have.

(c) LinkedIn - If you have LinkedIn, make sure you have an 'All Star' profile which is attractive to employers. It should showcase your skills and experience whilst having a more friendly, informal tone.

(d) Social Media - Your social media is easily accessible and sites like Facebook and Twitter will give employers an instant idea of who you are, so make sure it won't give the wrong impression.

(e) Follow up - Some organizations will take weeks to decide on which candidates to invite to interview, so if you haven't heard in 2 weeks or more, send a follow up letter. This will show that you are keen to work for them and even if it's a no, you're more likely to learn why.

The Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, announced the new dates for resumption of flights at the bi-weekly Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19 briefing on Monday.

“We are very glad today to announce that international flights will resume from August 29, 2020,” he said.

Sirika added, “However, what we have become used to – physical distancing, wearing of masks, washing of hands, temperature taking, etc will continue.”

He explained that the process for the resumption of international flights in the country would be similar to that of the domestic flight resumption.

According to the minister, the resumption will commence on Saturday next week at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) in Lagos and the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja, the nation’s capital.

He thanked Nigerians for their patience while the ban on international flights was enforced and gave an assurance that the protocols and procedures for resumption would be announced in due course.

“Just like we did with the domestic (flights resumption), it will start with Lagos and Abuja. The protocols, procedures, and processes, will be announced in due course.

“So, all protocols exist, and they will continue alongside the opening of these airports,” said Sirika.

He explained, “In the beginning, there will be four flights into Lagos and four flights into Abuja daily, we will give further details on that in due course.

“It is the Task Force decision, not that of aviation (ministry) … under the leadership of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation who is the chairman of PTF.”
