We should realize that we have, deep within ourselves, deep pools of great ability, that can be tapped, if we’ll just dig deeply enough

Meet Nike, who enrolled in our August skill acquisition program (street2skills), Nike was out of school for 1(one) good year due to lack of funds. As told by her...the school told my parents to pay 20k for enrollment in one of the government schools, they did all they could still nothing, so they asked me to stay out home....my daddy is an artisan, and it's once in a blue moon before he could get something to lay hands on, my mum sells cooked food, but she stopped...
I'm from a family of 6; Mum, dad and 4 of us. I'm the first born of my parents, and the rest of my siblings are not going to school due to financial issues.
I was going home with my mum one afternoon when one of Clic Initiative volunteers approached us, I wasn't interested but my mum told me to enroll for the program, and here I am now really enjoying it.
Now I can bake cake, do chinchin...even decorate the cake. I'm glad I took this step

CHESS IN SCHOOL (CIS)
During our class today with Avit school...they got to understand that chess is more than just a game we play on the chess board..
But teaches us the principles of life which are not limited to patience ; thinking ahead; strategizing; flexibility and adaptability; establishing a secure position before making aggressive, and potentially risky, moves; being alert to recognizing and seizing upon unexpected opportunities; considering all possibilities before settling on a single one, even when the “right choice” might appear obvious, decision-making; recognizing when it’s advantageous to keep fighting and when it’s sensible to admit defeat and move on; developing a considered plan of action based on previous experience and theoretical knowledge; and continuing to learn and improve, even when one has achieved prolonged success.
CHESS GAME IS FUN

With Nigeria’s unemployment rate as at 2022, put at 33.3 per cent and about 42.5 per cent million of the country’s youth population said to be unemployed, according to data from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), the Nigeria Employers’ Consultative Association (NECA) has again stressed the need to encourage skills acquisition to address the unemployment situation....The country’s unemployment rate has more than quadrupled since 2016 when the economy slipped into a recession.....
Research had revealed there was the dearth of technical and vocational skills required in the Nigerian economy and the labour market.....We have decided to create a robust technical and vocational training to make the youths employable or even become entrepreneurs......
Every youth in our country today must determine to be equipped with the technical and vocational skills which are in demand in the national and international labour market. With the strides in technology over the last decade, opportunities have opened up for individuals and businesses to operate.
Innovative change on the go!
More to come!!
