A veteran Yoruba Nollywood actor, Murphy Ray, has recounted a notable act of generosity by Nigeria’s president, Bola Tinubu, towards the late comedian and entertainer, Gbenga Adeboye.

Speaking during an appearance on the Talk to B podcast, Murphy Ray revealed that Tinubu played a crucial role in the aftermath of Adeboye’s death by taking full responsibility for organizing his burial. According to the actor, the intervention significantly eased the burden on the deceased’s family during a difficult period.

He further disclosed that Adeboye had been constructing a house before his passing, but the project was left unfinished. Murphy Ray stated that Tinubu stepped in to ensure the building was completed, ultimately providing a comfortable home for the late entertainer’s family.

The actor described the gesture as a testament to Tinubu’s longstanding support for individuals within the entertainment industry. He added that such acts of kindness were not isolated, noting that many entertainers have benefitted from similar interventions over the years.

Murphy Ray emphasized that Tinubu’s support not only preserved Adeboye’s legacy but also offered meaningful, practical assistance to his family. He expressed appreciation for the president’s contributions, highlighting the broader impact of such goodwill within the creative sector.

Faleke Backs Hamzat for 2027 Lagos Governorship, Directs Supporters to Align

A fresh political signal has emerged within the Lagos chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as James Faleke, Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Finance, has openly declared support for the state’s Deputy Governor, Obafemi Hamzat, ahead of next month’s gubernatorial primary.

The lawmaker made his position known on Friday, In a statement shared via his official social media handle, Faleke urged party faithful to unite behind Hamzat, stating:
“Good evening all. As we prepare for Party primaries next month, I urge all our supporters in Ikeja Federal Constituency and Lagos State to support Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat as the next Governor of Lagos State from 2027-2035. IJN. Amen!”

The endorsement is expected to shape political alignments within the APC in Lagos as consultations and power negotiations intensify ahead of the primaries.

This report presents a comprehensive and independent performance ranking of all 20 Local Governments and 37 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) across Lagos State, following 250 days in office.

This ranking, covering the period from July 27, 2025, to April 3, 2026, is the result of months of rigorous work. It was arrived at after a critical evaluation of both primary and secondary data, carefully gathered and verified by our network of field operatives our “foot soldiers” across all 57 councils in Lagos State.

Our assessment is built on key performance indicators that directly impact the lives of residents, including healthcare delivery, education, infrastructure development, job creation, environmental management, youth empowerment, and public perception.

After this extensive review, Odi-Olowo Ojuwoye LCDA, led by Jakande Oluseyi, Top the chat with an impressive score of 15,200 points.

Trailing closely behind are Ibeju-Lekki Local Government (Olowa Abdullahi) and Agege Local Government (Ganiu Obasa), both of which recorded strong performances in infrastructure expansion and grassroots governance.

The top tier also features Mushin LG, Ifako-Ijaiye LCDA, Somolu LG, Lagos Island East LCDA, Bariga LCDA, Lekki LCDA, and Agboyi-Ketu LCDA, all of which demonstrated consistency and measurable impact in service delivery.

However, our findings also reveal areas of concern. Councils such as Igando-Ikotun LCDA, Imota LCDA, Ojokoro LCDA, Iba LCDA, and Agbado-Oke Odo LCDA ranked lowest, indicating significant gaps in governance, infrastructure, and responsiveness to residents’ needs.
