Everybody talks about owning land but not everybody talks about owning it right.

A Certificate of Occupancy (C of O) is the proof of your land ownership, it’s protection, and peace of mind. It’s what separates “I paid for land” from “this property is legally recognized as mine.

If you’re buying land for your future, your family, or your investment portfolio, documentation should never be an afterthought.

The goal isn’t just to acquire a piece of land to your name, but to purchase certainty.

“Are you ready for disruptions?”

That has to be the resonant statement of at the just concluded Changemakers Conference in Lagos, last Wednesday.

In this fast paced dispensation of technological evolution in the creative economy, the best skill you can have is the ability of adaptability. With the constant development of artificial intelligence, the question then is:

-are you prepared for THE change?
-are you prepared for disruptions in the market?

If you can’t provide answers to those questions, your fate to be wiped into extinction and irrelevance is already decided.

What is regarded as a job is entirely subject to the definition of value, and value changes based on societal demands and economic expectations per time. Being able to think critically and proffer solutions is the way to adapt. It’s your responsibility to think about how to thrive inspite of economic instabilities, harsh governmental policies and market valuation changes.

In the not-so-distant future, the survivors of these disruptions will be those who have mastered the intricacies of adaptability, and those regarded as truly literate will not necessarily be those who went to school, but those who can interact, sell, and influence within the digital ecosystem.

Life after school begins the very first day you set your foot on campus.

That's the reality I have not only been told by the experienced speakers of my first and second edition of the Life After School Seminar, but of one I am already living in. If you come from this part of the world, no one prepares you for what's to come after 4 or 5 years of rigid lectures and rigorous rudimentary routines of attending classes.

I picked up graphic design even before 100 level, which has far been one of the best decisions of my life. I didn't have it all figured out, but my life has always been set on this trajectory. I don't have it all figured out still, but I'm not stranded. I'm making social impact from where I am with the Resurgence Impact Group, meaningfully; whilst designing solutions for both local and global brands. That's my cue.

Being a student is only for a little while, the real world is out there waiting for the potentials you've honed over the years. The world is done looking for certificate holders, it's now in earnest search of solutions to real problems. Be the solution to a problem. That's your cue.

Who gets to tell our story?

Students, alumni, creatives, builders, thinkers… all in one room, challenging the idea that great stories about our community must always be told by someone else.

That gathering was Resurgence AAUA. And watching it happen was deeply personal for me.

Not because it was perfect. But because it was real, a room full of people from the same campus deciding that our narratives deserve our own voices.

To the team that built this, the speakers who shared honestly, the partners who believed, and every single person who showed up and filled the room with energy.

Thank you for making Resurgence real.

And judging by what happened on Saturday, this conversation is far from over...
