PLAN Foundation had the honour of hosting a delegation of Women Advocates Research and Documentation Centre (WARDC), led by its Executive Director, Dr. Abiola Akiyode, along with Mrs. Christiana Omidiji, the WARDC Oyo State Focal Person, who were accompanied by two members of their team.
It was a highly engaging and insightful session as the visiting team and PLAN Foundation staff shared perspectives on strategies to reduce maternal mortality, with particular emphasis on the prevention of postpartum hemorrhage (PPH).
Discussions highlighted the critical role of time tested community engagement strategies for facilitating timely access to appropriate medications and evidence-based interventions for drastically reducing maternal deaths in Oyo State and beyond.
The visit strengthened our shared commitment to improving maternal health outcomes and advancing quality reproductive health services for women across Oyo State.
PLAN Foundation and WARDC are planning to put in place a Memorandum of Understanding that would provide for closer collaboration on joint interventions for promoting increased demand for and access to drugs for treating postpartum hemorrhage in women especially in urban slums and hard-to-reach rural areas in Oyo State.
We sincerely appreciate the visit which signifies our joint commitment and dedication to safeguarding the lives of mothers.
