EXPOSED: The Dirty Truth Behind Some Meats in Nigerian Markets

Right now as I'm writing this, some poisoned cows have been allegedly loaded, in a local government in Jos.(check attached image). No one knows the destination of the vehicle.
They might be headed for a slaughterhouse for all we know.

Search Facebook yourself for that news story.

----

You go to the market thinking you're buying meat.
But what if I told you...
You're possibly buying death.

Yes.

Some of the meats you eat come from animals that were never slaughtered alive.
They died mysteriously—from sickness, infections, or in transit.
Yet, their carcasses end up on our plates.

How did I find out?
From experience.
I'm not just a Muslim. I'm a livestock farmer.
One day in Ibadan, I went to buy meat at a well-known abattoir (Kara) in Ibadan.

There, I saw things that made my stomach turn.

First shock: I watched how they “slaughter” animals.
Not the Islamic way of cutting the jugular veins and windpipe cleanly.
No. They stab the neck deeply once—and move on.
Why?
To collect blood for preparing sikin—a food made from spiced, boiled cow blood.
Unlawful. Dangerous. Unclean.

But that wasn’t all.

The man guiding me—probably thinking I was naive—started whispering “insider info.”

He pointed at one opened-up cow and said:
"Don't buy this one. It's a dead animal. Not slaughtered. I can’t let an Alfa like you buy that."

Shocked, I asked how he knew.

He replied:
"Look at the meat. Slightly darker than normal. That’s your first clue."

He then dropped a bombshell:
"Some were sick and injected with strong meds. When they die, even flies avoid them. But, there's a way we still get them butchered and sold as meat."

As someone with basic knowledge of veterinary rules, I know this:
There’s a withdrawal period for medicated animals. The withdrawal time varies depending on the kind of injections.

After injection, they must not be slaughtered for meat until the withdrawal period has passed.
But in these places?
Some die before the withdrawal period ends and are still sold to unsuspecting buyers.

No wonder people fall sick.
We're eating toxins dressed as meat.

Here's the bitter truth:
Corruption isn’t just in our society, government and private sector.
It has entered our food chain.

So what's the solution?
Stop buying random meats from unknown sources.

Do what I do:
Buy your own healthy animal—cow, ram, goat, sheep—and have it properly slaughtered.

Some people came to me to buy cow for sharing today. I sold them healthy cow that haven't been injected in the past 3 weeks.

It’s not just about religion.
It’s about survival.

Food is life. Stop eating death.

Don't scroll past unless you want to experience what one of our customers encountered on the farm during his cow delivery.

Our customer, who wasn’t available, sent his brother to pick up a cow at the farm.

The brother met our female workers, who obviously couldn’t tie the cow.
So, he and the driver he came with decided to do it by themselves.

Long story short, the cow broke one of its legs during the tussle.

Watch the video to the end and learn the best way to bring down and tie a cow.
