Ladies Connect Initiative (LCI) remains committed to addressing gender-based violence and empowering women and girls.

In 2025, we achieved a lot, and we are grateful for our volunteers and our partners.

Menstrual Hygiene Management Program Ibadan: We organized a menstrual hygiene sensitization program for school girls in Ibadan.

Female Ge***al Mutilation (FGM) Awareness Campaign – Ibadan We collaborated with Leap Africa and other partner organisations to conduct a FGM sensitization campaign in Ibadan.

International Day of the Girl Child Celebration – LCI joined the global community in celebrating the International Day of the Girl Child through activities focused on amplifying girls’ voices, promoting equal opportunities, and advocating for their rights to safety, education, and dignity.

Digital Literacy Workshop for Teachers in Partnership with Safe Net, in collaboration with Safe Net, we facilitated a training workshop for teachers on digital literacy and online safety.

Digital Rights & Online Safety Training for Students. Still partnering with Safe Net to mark the 16 days activism against gender based violence, we hosted an awareness session for secondary school students on digital rights, cyberbullying, consent, and online abuse.

16 Days of Activism Against GBV – Taraba Market Sensitisation. As part of the global 16 Days of Activism, we carried out a market sensitisation outreach in Taraba State. Traders and community members were educated on forms of gender-based violence, reporting mechanisms, and the importance of community accountability.

Gender-Based Violence is sustained by deeply ingrained beliefs: that men are entitled to control women, that domestic violence is a private matter, or that survivors are to blame.

Sensitisation directly confronts these toxic norms, creating a cultural environment where violence is no longer tolerated or excused.

In many communities, stigma silences survivors and protects perpetrators. Sensitisation campaigns create a safer space for discussing GBV, empowering communities to break the silence and stand against violence.

Ladies Connect Initiative, in collaboration with the SafHer Net Project, continues to champion digital safety, gender equality, and human rights.⠀

This partnership reflects our shared commitment to educating and empowering young people and educators, ensuring safer online and offline environments for all.⠀

This project involves digital literacy training for selected educators. This training equips teachers with the tools to build safer, more inclusive digital learning environments.

This phase was scheduled to conclude alongside the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, making today Human Rights Day, a powerful moment of reflection and renewed commitment.⠀

We marked the end of the 16 Days of Activism against GBV, with the reminder that millions, especially women, children, and marginalized groups, continue to face violence, discrimination, and silence.⠀

Every day, women and girls around the world face violence simply because of who they are. Gender- based violence cuts across communities, cultures, and economies, limiting opportunities, damaging health, and silencing voices that deserve to be heard.

At Ladies Connect Initiative, we are committed to preventing gender-based violence, providing survivor-centred support, and advancing systemic change.

Through community engagement, advocacy, and partnerships, we work to challenge harmful norms, strengthen protection systems, and amplify survivors' voices.

Gender-Based Violence refers to harmful acts directed at individuals based on their gender and includes physical, sexual, emotional, and economic abuse.

GBV affects people of all ages and backgrounds, but women and girls are disproportionately impacted.

Raising awareness about GBV is essential to challenge harmful norms, promote gender equality, and encourage survivors to seek help without fear or stigma.

GBV awareness also emphasises the importance of prevention, legal protection, community support, and holding perpetrators accountable to create safer and more respectful societies.

Ladies Connect Initiative, in collaboration with the SafHer Net Project, continues to champion digital safety, gender equality, and human rights.⠀

This partnership reflects our shared commitment to educating and empowering young people and educators, ensuring safer online and offline environments for all.⠀

The SafHer Net Project is implemented in two locations and consists of two phases: a physical outreach at the Jesus the Rock Institute with discussions about digital rights and online safety and a virtual training program for educators.⠀

The second phase of the project involves digital literacy training for selected educators. This training equips teachers with the tools to build safer, more inclusive digital learning environments. This phase is scheduled to conclude alongside the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, making today Human Rights Day, a powerful moment of reflection and renewed commitment.⠀

As we mark the end of the 16 Days of Activism against GBV, we are reminded that this truth is still not fully realized for millions especially women, children, and marginalized groups who continue to face violence, discrimination, and silence.⠀

The past 16 days have been a strong call to action. But our collective responsibility does not end here.GBV is not a 16-day fight—it is a 365-day commitment.⠀

Let this Human Rights Day strengthen our resolve to build a world where freedom from violence is not a privilege, but a guaranteed human right. The activism continues. The advocacy continues. The fight for dignity, safety, and equality continues today and every day.⠀
