In line with the Nigeria Tax Act (NTA) 2025, the Electronic Money Transfer Levy (EMTL) has been renamed Stamp Duties, effective January 1, 2026.
A ₦50 charge will apply to transfers of ₦10,000 and above, paid by the sender as mandated by FIRS.
Please note that PalmPay does not benefit from this charge, and transfers between your own PalmPay accounts remain unaffected.
