Yesterday when my daughter came back from school, I was helping her change out of her uniform when I noticed a long scratch at the back of her neck.

That moment, my heart skipped.

As mothers, no matter how tired we are, our eyes will always notice the smallest thing on our children’s bodies. I kept asking her, What happened here?she said her teacher flogged me

Immediately my mood changed.

This morning, I went to the school to ask questions because if my child gets hurt outside my home, I deserve to know how it happened. The teacher I met looked genuinely surprised and said she wasn’t even aware of it because according to my daughter, it was another teacher that punished her.

Honestly, parenting is not easy. You send your child to school hoping they are safe, loved, corrected with care, and protected. But sometimes, one small scratch can make a mother overthink everything.

People say mothers worry too much, but the truth is… nobody carries a child in their heart the way a mother does. Even the tiniest mark can disturb our peace.

To every mother checking their child’s body after school, asking a million questions, and trying to make sure their babies are okay
