It’s attention to details or NOTHING!!!

Most clients on different types of job roles always add to their requirements for an assistant with a GOOD attention to details.

The fact is that, this sentence isn’t just as simple as it may sound.

Let me talk about a real encounter when I went to bank.
- So I had a failed inflow of fund which was going to 1month without reversal after using the bank support through mail and WhatsApp. And they told me I had to visit the bank for upgrade and to unfreeze account.
So I visited my bank for upgrading. They requested for my electricity bill but I had it soft copy, while they needed it hard copy.

So one of the support person gave me an email address to send the receipt to.
The actual address given to me was, nnachi.omefe@(bank name).com.

When sending the mail, I wrote [email protected] instead of @(bank name).com which I didn’t directly type but the mail automatically came up and I taught that was the mail address.
Secondly, I typed nnamchi.omefe@(bank name).com, thereby adding the letter m to nnachi which the mail came up with.

At this point, I was now angry. That was when the support guy asked me to show him the mail address I was sending to.
And he said, this is not how my name is spelt.

Omo I checked alphabet by alphabet and realized my mistake. Kai I was so ashamed of myself.
The next thing I heard from my mind was, where are those attention to details quality am supposed to have as a virtual assistant?

MORAL LESSON:
Don’t ever assume that something is what it is as prompted by your keyboard.

Instead ask questions after you have done correctly what you have seen and doesn’t work.

Always check your words alphabetically to avoid waste of time.

I hope this post educates someone more about having a good attention to details.
