AN ADDRESS PRESENTED BY THE DIRECTOR AND CHAIRMAN GOVERNING COUNCIL, SUCCESS GATE POLYTECHNIC, EKPENE OBO, PRINCE GODWIN PETER ON THE MAIDEN MATRICULATION CEREMONY OF SUCCESS GATE POLYTECHNIC, EKPENE OBO, ESIT EKET ON SATURDAY 30TH APRIL, 2022.

On behalf of the Governing Council of this polytechnic, I express my heartfelt gratitude to the almighty God for the grace and mercy he has shown us individually and as an institution and for taking us this far despite these challenging times.

It gladdens my heart to address this gathering today because the occasion has made me feel fulfilled of my longtime vision of bridging the obvious widened academic gaps that have existed between children of the rich and those of the poor who were hungry of quality tertiary education.

As a young man who struggled in the streets for legitimate means of survival, I had observed with tears, how qualitative education was gradually becoming an exclusive right of only the rich, leaving some intelligent and talented children of the poor to their fate. It was my dream that one day, qualitative education, acquired in a serene, secure, safe, and peaceful learning environment, shall be made considerably affordable to both the rich and the poor Nigerians.

Today, by the special grace of God, that dream has come to pass and behold Success Gate Polytechnic, Ekpene Obo is here. This has been made possible by God, who passed through Distinguished Senator Godswill Obot Akpabio and Elder Ibanga Bassey Etang (of blessed memory) to bless me and make this day a fulfilled dream. To God be the glory.

Success Gate Polytechnic has come to stay. Our tuition fee is considerably affordable, our policy is accommodating for both the high and the low class citizens. With a team of intellectual, sound and qualified teaching and non teaching staff working with us, we assure you that your children are in save hands. Here, our lecturers are teachers, they devote more time to teach using the techniques students will understand with ease.

In Success Gate Polytechnic, there is no room for any form of examination malpractices, bribing to pass examination is highly condemnable. Cultism and other social vices do not have a place here. We have established a cordial relationship with the security agencies to make sure anyone caught in any act of indiscipline is handed over to them.

For students who think they can stay away from lectures and only show up during exams, expecting that they can sort their ways out with good results, I advise them to have a rethink as management of this institution will not tolerate such lazy learning habit. Success Gate Polytechnic has come to make a positive difference in tertiary institution learning. Staff-students relationship has been very commendable and has encouraged a peaceful academic climate in the institution. Please keep it up.

For parents and guardians who have reposed a high level of confidence in us by sending their children here for learning, and those that will do same by next admission year and in future, we promise not to disappoint you, but rather continually uphold to high moral, ethical and academic standards which Success Gate Polytechnic stands for.
Let me at this moment welcome you once again to this historic event, even as I heartily congratulate all the matriculating students.
