Today should have been filled with laughter (as depicted in the image above) playgrounds, bright uniforms, and the fearless joy that children deserve.

But across Nigeria today, there are families carrying a different reality -
empty spaces at tables,
silent rooms,
and the unbearable pain of children still under captivity.

So this Children’s Day,
we commemorate with heavy hearts.

We celebrate not from a place of complete joy,
but from hope -
hope for a Nigeria where every child is safe,
where innocence is protected,

As we mark this day, we remember every missing child, every grieving parent, and every community waiting for safe returns.

As we marked 8 years of Sparkling 92.3 FM, our visit to the Cross River State Ministry of Information became more than a courtesy call. It became a reminder that professionalism, ethical broadcasting, balanced discourse, and social relevance still matter - and are still recognised.
