They offered me fame but I said no to fakery.
Yes, I was the “beautiful face” of Nollywood in the ‘80s. But even at the height of the lights and cameras, I knew who I was: a woman of depth, not a puppet for cheap scripts.
I turned down roles because they didn’t speak to purpose.
I walked off sets because they wanted me to “tone it down.”
But I was never created to dim for anyone’s comfort.
