AWA Initiative was fully represented at the 2nd Meeting of the Technical Working Group (TWG) on Menstrual Health and Hygiene Management (MHHM) in Nigeria, which held yesterday in Abuja.
The meeting brought together key stakeholders and partners to strengthen collaboration, review ongoing interventions, and advance coordinated efforts towards improving menstrual health outcomes across the country.
We remain committed to driving inclusive, sustainable solutions that ensure every girl and woman can manage menstruation with dignity.

Every month, too many girls are forced to choose between their education and a natural biological process and that choice shouldn’t exist.
Creating supportive school environments, improving access to menstrual products, and breaking the silence around periods are not just health actions they’re investments in girls’ futures.
It’s time we turn awareness into action. 💜

A Well-Informed Adolescent Initiative was proudly represented at the Jobberman Nigeria Employer Onboarding Event, an important step in strengthening our impact through building the capacity of young graduates with the skills and knowledge needed to thrive in today’s workforce.
We are excited about the opportunities this creates and the ripple effect it will have on youth empowerment and employment outcomes.
Our sincere appreciation to the Mastercard Foundation and Jobberman Nigeria for driving this impactful initiative to empower young Africans.

A girl’s future should not be paused because of her period.
Access to menstrual health is not a luxury it is a right. When we create safe spaces, provide the right resources, and normalize the conversation, we open doors for girls to show up fully every single day.
Let’s do better. Let’s do more.

AWA Initiative strongly condemns the harassment and violence against women reported at the Ozoro festival.
No cultural celebration should come at the cost of the safety, dignity, and rights of women and girls.
We stand firmly against all forms of gender-based violence and call for accountability and justice for the victims.
We stand in solidarity with all affected.

Gender should never limit potential, opportunities, or dignity.
No “he” or “she", just human.
Gender equality is not a woman’s issue, it is a human issue. It affects us all, and it requires all of us to speak up, act, and create change regardless of gender.
Let’s move beyond labels and build a more inclusive society for all.
