How do I receive the Holy Spirit after giving my life to Christ?

When a person genuinely believes in Jesus Christ and surrenders to Him, the Holy Spirit comes to dwell in them. Salvation opens the door for the Spirit of God to live within the believer. (Ephesians 1:13)

Why did Jesus promise believers the Holy Spirit?

Jesus promised the Holy Spirit so believers would never walk alone. The Holy Spirit strengthens, teaches, reminds us of God’s Word, and empowers us to live for Christ. (John 14:26)
