If there is one politician today in Nigeria in general, and Cross River State in particular; that inspires hope amongst today's generation with his positive leadership attitude, it is Engr. Ben Etim Akak, the current leading APC governorship aspirant and frontline contender to the office of the governor in 2023.

Engr. Ben Akak to those who are acquainted, or have come in contact with him in one way or the other , typifies the undying and unconquering spirit of the African Child to succeed against all odds having been born with no golden spoon.

Rising from this humble background, he has lived and cultivated a positive leadership style of leading that combines positive behaviors as a method to guide others. He strongly believes that if he can succeed, everyone else can; the very reason he is aspiring to become the next governor of Cross River State in 2023 so as to serve as a motivation to the ordinary Cross River child that our abilities actually depends on our determination, and with that sincere determination, we can break all barriers standing before our success.

When he announced his aspiration years back, not many believed he will come this far. Many dismised his aspiration as a joke because he is not politically connected. In mentioning possible names that will succeed Gov. Ben Ayade, they deliberately will not mention his name. Those who mentioned his name did that in passing because to them, the issue of 2023 has been settled, the office has been used to settled children of the godfathers and those earthly and politically connected.

These attempt not to believe in his aspiration in the early stage by many politicians did not deter him, he kept on a positive attitude and spirit, the spirit we now call the BEN AKAK SPIRIT.

This spirit has seen him move from strength to strength. It has seen him attract the high and the mighty to his camp. Those who did not believe in him are beginning to see the vision in his leadership and the young people in Cross River State are now shouting, "Ben Akak or nothing!". I know the All Progressives Congress Party will also listen to this yearnings of the people and hand their ticket to Engr. Ben Akak.

This positive leadership spirit of Engr. Ben Akak that will propel Cross River State to greatness when elected into office only reminds one of great African leaders like Jomo Kenyatta, Thomas Isidore Noel Sankara, Koffi Anan, Patrice Lumumba, Julius Nyerere, Kwame Nkrumah, Haile Selassie, Nelson Mandela and our own Industriization agent, Prof. Ben Ayade whose positive leadership attitudes created impact in their countries.

A Ben Akak governorship in 2023 is one that will create history and break record as a government of a child of nobody with no connection who grew up to become somebody relying solely on the fact that it is God that crowns leadership.

The BEN AKAK SPIRIT will therefore bring prosperity to Cross River State as from 2023.
