There is a conversation we need to have and let's have it with love, not condemnation.
Cohabitation is becoming normal among teenagers and young adults in Nigeria. Moving in together before marriage. Sharing space, sharing a bed, sharing a life without a covenant.
And many of them genuinely believe it is harmless, even practical.

I Am Joseph: A Message to Today’s Teenagers
I grew up in a home full of tension. My own brothers couldn’t stand me. They hated me because my father favored me and because I dreamed big.
One day, they stripped me of my robe and threw me into a pit. They sold me like property to strangers heading to Egypt. I had nothing. No money. No support. No plan. Just wounds and God.
In Egypt, I worked hard in the house of a powerful man named Potiphar. I rose quickly. Things were finally looking up until temptation came knocking.
Potiphar’s wife tried to seduce me. Daily. But I feared God more than I feared missing out.
I said, “How can I do this wicked thing and sin against God?”
So I ran from the temptation but running cost me my freedom. She lied. I was thrown in prison.
Yes, doing the right thing still led to pain. But the prison didn’t cancel my purpose.
Even behind bars, I stayed faithful. I helped others interpret their dreams while I waited for mine to come true.
Then one day, Pharaoh had a dream no one could interpret. I was remembered. I stood before the king, and with God’s help, I explained his dream and gave a plan.
Just like that, I went from prisoner to Prime Minister.
I helped save Egypt and even the same brothers who once betrayed me came to me for help.
They were afraid I’d punish them. But I didn’t. I forgave them.
I said: “You meant it for evil, but God meant it for good.”
Now listen…
I know we’re generations apart but the battles we face are still the same.
You may not be sold to strangers, but maybe you’ve been abandoned or betrayed.
You may not be in a dungeon, but maybe you're trapped in fear, shame, or sin.
And yes, sexual temptation is still real. It just hides behind apps, DMs, and screens.
Let me tell you plainly:
Don’t lose your destiny because of temporary pleasure.
Don’t give up your robe of purpose just to blend in.
Don’t exchange your calling for applause from people who don’t care about your soul.
If you’re in a pit, hold on; God often starts great stories in low places.
If you’re being tempted in secret, run. Better to lose your coat than lose your conscience.
If you’re waiting on God, don’t quit. Delay is not denial.
Keep your heart pure. Keep your hands clean. Keep your faith strong. Forgive when it’s hard. Trust God when it’s dark. He never wastes pain.
I am Joseph.
And I rose, not because life was easy, but because I refused to bow to sin.
You can too.
God is still writing. Don’t quit the page.

Are We Losing Ourselves to Our Screens? The Hidden Cost of Our Digital Lives
There’s a strange kind of silence in many homes today, not the peaceful kind, but a digital hush, where voices are replaced by notifications, and connection is replaced by scrolling. Everyone is “plugged in,” but somehow, more disconnected than ever.
What if the very devices meant to bring us together are silently tearing us apart?
The Illusion of Connection
It’s easy to believe we’re more connected than any generation in history. We can message friends across the world, stream endless entertainment, and share every moment in real time. But behind the glowing screens and filtered feeds lies a deeper truth: many are feeling lonelier, more anxious, and more unseen than ever before.
Social media was designed to connect us—but it often leaves us comparing, performing, and questioning our worth. We crave likes and comments, but still feel empty. Why?
Because connection through a screen is not the same as real presence. It can’t replace eye contact, laughter across a dinner table, or the quiet comfort of just being with someone who cares.
What Are We Missing While We Scroll?
Have you ever thought about what you're giving up every time you pick up your phone? Studies show the average teen spends over 7 hours a day on screens, not including schoolwork. That adds up to over 100 full days a year.
But the real loss isn’t measured in hours, it’s measured in moments:
The conversation you didn’t have with your sibling.
The sunset you didn’t really see.
The prayer you didn’t pray because TikTok came first.
The peace you couldn’t feel because your mind was too noisy.
Screens offer escape, but too often they rob us of what really matters.
The Lies Behind the Glow
It’s not just about time. It’s about truth.
What we consume shapes how we think, feel, and see ourselves. And so many young people are absorbing digital lies:
“You’re not pretty enough.”
“You’re not successful enough.”
“Everyone else is happier than you.”
“You need more likes to matter.”
These messages aren’t just annoying, they’re harmful. They’re building quiet chains of insecurity, anxiety, and even hopelessness. Many are comparing themselves to filters, not real people, and wondering why they never measure up.
When We Can’t Hear Anymore
In the constant noise of online life, it becomes harder to hear the truth of the Holy Spirit, the kind that tells you:
You are already loved.
You were made for real connection.
You matter, even when no one clicks “like.”
You’re not alone even in your quietest moments.
But here’s the danger: the more we scroll, the harder it becomes to hear that voice. The volume of the world drowns out what’s most important. And without knowing it, we start believing the lies.
What Can We Do About It?
We don’t need to fear technology. But we do need to wake up.
Here are a few simple steps to reclaim your attention and protect your heart:
1. Create “No-Phone” Zones
Set boundaries, mealtimes, family times, or even one screen-free day a week. It’s amazing what comes alive in the silence.
2. Practice Presence
Look people in the eyes. Listen without distraction. Let real-life moments matter more than digital ones.
3. Clean Your Feed
Unfollow accounts that make you feel less-than. Fill your feed with truth, hope, and encouragement.
4. Talk About It
With friends. With your family. With God. Talk about how screens make you feel. Don’t let the struggle stay silent.
5. Make Time for Silence
It’s in the quiet that you’ll often hear what you’ve been missing -- peace, clarity, purpose, even God’s whisper.
Real Life Is Happening Right Now
The filtered images, viral videos, and trending topics will come and go. But the people in your life? The moments of laughter, warmth, prayer, reflection—those are eternal.
Don’t let your screen become your world.
Don’t let your worth be measured in followers.
Don’t let your soul be silenced by noise.
Look up. Be still. Be present.
There’s more to life than likes. And if we’re brave enough to unplug, even for a little while, we might finally start hearing what really matters.

How to Avoid Being Groomed or Exploited Online
“He said he loved me and for a moment, I believed him.”
It started as a simple message. A kind word. A compliment. Then it became daily chats, little secrets, and “Don’t tell anyone we talk like this.”
By the time you realize something feels wrong, the trap is already closing in.
Online grooming is silent. Subtle. Dangerous. And it's happening to teens every single day.
You’re not too smart, too careful, or too strong to be targeted because predators know exactly how to make you feel seen, heard, and needed. Until they ask for a picture. Or your trust. Or your silence.
What Is Online Grooming?
Online grooming happens when an adult (or even a peer) builds a fake emotional connection with a young person online to manipulate or exploit them emotionally, sexually, or psychologically.
The groomer flatters you. They compliment your photos, share their own “secrets,” maybe send you gifts or airtime. It feels like attention. It feels like love.
But it’s not. It’s a setup.
Their goal is to gain your trust, isolate you, and cross your boundaries.
“Be wise as serpents and harmless as doves.” Matthew 10:16
This verse is more than spiritual advice - it’s a survival strategy. In a world that’s not always safe, you must be alert, discerning, and bold enough to protect your space.
Red Flags to Watch Out For
Not everyone online is who they say they are. Look out for these signs that someone may be trying to groom or exploit you:
They ask you to keep secrets, especially from your parents or friends.
They request photos, even if they seem innocent at first.
They say things like “You’re mature for your age.”
They try to isolate you or suggest private conversations only.
They pressure you to meet in person or send something personal.
They make you feel guilty for setting boundaries.
They say they love you very early in the conversation.
If you're seeing any of these signs, pause. Something is off and it's not your imagination.
What You Can Do
If it feels wrong, it probably is. Trust your instincts. You don’t owe anyone your attention, your privacy, or your peace of mind.
Here’s what to do if you suspect grooming:
1. Block and Report – Every platform has a report function. Use it.
2. Talk to a Trusted Adult – A parent, youth pastor, teacher, or counselor.
3. Document What Happened – Take screenshots in case it’s needed.
4. Don’t Stay Silent – Silence is what groomers want. Speaking up is your power.
You Are Not Alone
You’re not weak for being targeted. You’re not stupid for not catching on earlier.
These predators are manipulative, experienced, and intentional.
But you are stronger the moment you speak out. You are safer the moment you ask for help. You are protected the moment you decide to choose safety.
Make This Choice Today
Comment “I CHOOSE SAFETY” if you're committed to staying alert and wise online.
Let others know they’re not alone, and that it’s okay to draw boundaries.
Save it. Share it. Someone you know may need this more than you think.

When a young man is about to lose his purpose, he first discovers gambling.
When a young girl is about to fall into error, she starts indulging in secret relationship.
When a young man is about to lose his discipline, he first embraces late-night parties.
When a young girl is about to drift from God, she starts hiding her prayer life.
When a young man is about to compromise his values, he first starts laughing at what’s sinful.
When a young girl is about to lose her identity, she begins chasing online validation.
When a young man is about to harden his heart, he first stops listening to correction.
When a young girl is about to embrace lies, she first stops reading the truth.
When a young man is about to waste his destiny, he first starts keeping careless company.
When a young girl is about to silence her convictions, she first calls them “old-fashioned.”
When a young man is about to drown in shame, he first hides his struggles.
When a young girl is about to get entangled, she first stops asking for counsel.
can let's talk for a moment?
I know life can feel like a blur sometimes. There’s pressure from all sides; to fit in, to feel something, to not miss out. But can I tell you a truth you may not hear often?
Before a fall comes a small shift.
Not always loud. Sometimes it looks like harmless fun. Sometimes it wears the mask of “normal teenage stuff.” But behind it, something deeper is going on.
When a young man starts finding gambling “exciting,” it’s often not about the thrill, it’s a hunger for purpose that’s being misplaced.
When a young girl hides a secret relationship, it’s often not just romance, it’s a longing for affirmation in the wrong arms.
When prayer becomes boring. when sin becomes funny. when truth sounds “old-school” that’s not random. That’s a soul calling out for something more.
Proverbs 4:23 says, "Guard your heart with all diligence, for out of it flow the issues of life."
In other words, the battles you think are "small" are actually fights for your future.
So here's a golden advice.
Don’t ignore the early signs. The Spirit often nudges us long before the storm hits.
Don’t walk alone. Isolation is where deception grows.
Don’t be afraid of accountability. Correction isn't rejection, it's God's protection.
And please. don’t swap truth for trends. What’s popular now can lead you away from God’s plan later.
Jesus isn’t just trying to make you “behave.” He’s trying to help you become.
He sees what you’re becoming and He’s fighting for it, even when you’re not.
So if you're seeing yourself in any of those patterns, stop. Breathe. Talk to God. Talk to someone you trust. It’s never too late to turn around.
Your destiny is worth the fight. And you’re not alone in this.
With love and truth,
YCDI cares.
To the fathers who show up with love, even when it’s not easy.
Who lead with quiet strength, provide with sacrifice, and love without conditions.
This is for you.
Happy Father’s Day. We see you, we honour you, we love you.

“I’m tired of begging for data and transport money”
If you’ve ever said those words, you’re not alone. You want more freedom, more dignity, and some cash to make life easier. The good news is, you don’t need to be 25, own a shop, or wear a suit to start earning.
If you have a phone and a passion, you have potential.
𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗦𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗛𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗪𝗮𝘆
We live in a digital age. The phone in your hand is more powerful than the machines that once launched rockets. Instead of just scrolling, use it to build something of your own.
Whether you're saving for something big, trying to support your parents, or simply want financial independence, a side hustle teaches you responsibility, focus, and valuable skills that can shape your future.
𝙃𝙤𝙬 𝙩𝙤 𝙎𝙩𝙖𝙧𝙩 𝙖 𝙎𝙞𝙢𝙥𝙡𝙚 𝙎𝙞𝙙𝙚 𝙃𝙪𝙨𝙩𝙡𝙚 𝙖𝙨 𝙖 𝙏𝙚𝙚𝙣
Here’s a straightforward plan to help you begin today.
𝟭. 𝗜𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗳𝘆 𝗮 𝗦𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗖𝗮𝗻 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿
What are you already good at
Designing, writing, baking, teaching, organizing, speaking
You don’t need to be perfect; just helpful to someone else.
𝟮. 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗦𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗙𝗿𝗲𝗲
Offer your service to three people you know. Classmates, neighbors, family. Focus on delivering value. This helps you gain confidence and testimonials.
𝟯. 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗲 𝗼𝗻 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁𝘀𝗔𝗽𝗽 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀
You don’t need a large audience. Use what you have. Share what you do clearly and simply
For example
“I’m offering free logo designs this week to three small business owners. Let me know if you’re interested.”
𝟰. 𝗔𝘀𝗸 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗙𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸, 𝗡𝗼𝘁 𝗝𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗣𝗮𝘆𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁
Early feedback helps you improve faster than money does. Ask your first users what worked and what didn’t. Their input is more useful than silence.
𝗕𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗪𝗶𝘀𝗱𝗼𝗺 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴 𝗛𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗹𝗲𝗿𝘀
Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord. Colossians 3 verse 23
Small beginnings are not failures. God values consistency and effort. Whether you’re baking snacks or editing short videos, do it like you're doing it for Him.
𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝘼𝙗𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙔𝙤𝙪
What side hustle have you always wanted to try
Is it fashion design, selling thrift wear, social media management, phone repairs, or tutoring
Share it in the comments. Let’s cheer you on. Your small step might encourage someone else to take theirs.
You don’t need to wait to be older to be responsible. You can start now. Use what you have. Grow from there.
