Is this how elections are won in Nigeria?

At times, one begins to wonder whether we have truly progressed beyond the stone age. If electoral processes can be manipulated without consequences, then elections become nothing more than a waste of time, resources, and the people's trust.

What is even more disturbing is that some people continue to defend or support such actions. Democracy can only thrive when fairness, transparency, and accountability are upheld.

This is a shameful situation for all of us, and a reminder that we must demand better for our nation.

COMMISSIONER ONYEKESI VISITS ASSAULTED BOY, CHIZITEREM, AT HOSPITAL

By Dominic Michael

Anambra State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Mrs. Esther Onyekesi (Adaejiejemba), paid a personal visit to Master Chiziterem at the hospital where he is currently receiving treatment following a brutal assault. The Commissioner, who had earlier sent a delegation to the hospital, deemed it necessary to visit the young boy personally, expressing deep concern over his condition and offering words of comfort to him and his family.

Mrs. Onyekesi used the occasion to reaffirm the Ministry's zero-tolerance stance on violence against children and vulnerable persons, assuring the family that justice will be served. She equally expressed appreciation to the Governor's Wife, Dr. Mrs. Nonye Soludo, and the good people of Anambra State for their show of concern and swift response to the incident. She called on residents of the state to continue to speak up against such acts of cruelty, noting that the perpetrators are already in police custody and that the Ministry will ensure the law takes its full course. The Commissioner also rejoiced over Chiziterem's fast recovery, describing it as a source of relief and expressing hope for his swift and full return to good health.
