GKS ASABA
THE PRAISE BRANCH
DIVINE SERVICE
SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 27
OFFICIANT : BRO. ANDREW OKOCHA, MINISTER, ASABA ZONE
OPENING REMARKS
It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed. Lamentations 3:22. Our lives are in the hands of God, and His goodness and faithfulness never fail. Every new day is therefore a testimony of His mercy and an opportunity to put our trust in Him.
Whatever challenges we may face, we should remain hopeful, knowing that God is faithful to those who depend on Him and therefore continue to serve Him with implicit faith, sincerity and truth, trusting completely in His promises and acknowledging Him as the source and sustainer of our lives.
SERMON: FACTS ABOUT CHRIST
The minister drew attention to the nature, identity and supremacy of Jesus Christ as revealed in the Word of God, emphasising that Christ was the Word of God, who was with God in the beginning and through whom all things were made. He is described as the firstborn of every creature, and by Him all things were created in heaven and on earth, both visible and invisible.
Jesus Christ occupies a unique and supreme position in God's plan for humanity. He is not only the Creator, but also the firstborn from the dead, so that in everything He might have the pre-eminence.
Referring to Proverbs 8:22–30, the sermon highlighted the wisdom and eternal purpose associated with Christ, pointing believers to the divine foundation of God's work from the beginning.
Salvation can only come through Jesus Christ. Quoting His words in John 14:6, I am the way, the truth and the life, the sermon explained that Christ is the only way through which humanity can be reconciled to God and receive eternal life.
The sermon concluded with a call on all to remain steadfast in their faith, trusting in God's mercy and goodness, and serving Him faithfully and truthfully, regardless of the circumstances .

DIVINE SERVICE : SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 20
OFFICIANT : BRO EDIRIN IYARA
OPENING REMARKS
Put God and His work first in everything you do. Allow the Word of God to cleanse, strengthen and refresh you at all times. Do not be in a hurry to leave the house of God for anything that is not an emergency. Give proper attention to God’s presence and His Word. Do your part His work.
SERMON : RESILIENCE IN GOD’S SERVICE — BRO. ISAAC TUBOH
Resilience is the ability to remain strong and keep moving despite difficulties and challenges. Christians should not be weary in using their time and resources to serve God. As believers, we will definitely face hardships in various forms.“Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the LORD delivereth him out of them all”. Psalm 34:19
"Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution."2 Tim. 3:12
Do not be overwhelmed by tribulations but continue to forge ahead and do good. Remain steadfast, as God has promised never to leave nor forsake His people. His promises are sure and those who endure to the end will receive the promised reward - eternal life.
