Favoured Queen

Distance is my new response. I no longer have the energy to tell people what they did wrong, i don’t return energy, i just remove myself because I realised talking doesn’t fix anything with people who doesn’t want to understand. I’m done explaining, repeating or begging for basic respect, i rather step back and give myself peace.
Distance protects me from repeating the same pain, the same lesson, the same disappointment and if someone truly cares they won’t let me feel like disappearing is the only way i can feel okay.

Of course I can do it alone. I have been strong for so long teaching myself how to keep going when no one was there, wiping my own tears, clapping for myself, and standing up every time life knocks me down. I have carried silent battles and forced a smile even when all I wanted was to cry. People don’t see how tiring it is to always be the strong one, I know i can survive on my own, I always have, but sometimes i just wish someone would remind me that i don’t have to.
