Most fintech apps don’t fail because of features…
They fail because users don’t understand what’s happening.
When designing this escrow app, I realized something critical: Clarity of transaction status = user trust
So I focused on designing a clear and intuitive transaction state system.
Here’s how I approached it 👇
1. Clear Transaction States
I structured transactions into 4 simple states:
Pending
Accepted
Paid
In-transit
This removes ambiguity and answers the user’s biggest question: 👉 “What’s happening with my money right now?”
2. Visual Hierarchy for Quick Scanning
Users shouldn’t think—they should scan.
So I designed:
Active state tabs (highlighted)
Clean list structure
Clear pricing + timestamps
✔️ Makes information digestible at a glance
✔️ Reduces cognitive load
3. Contextual Actions (Very Important UX Decision)
Instead of showing all actions at once, I used state-based CTAs:
Accepted → Pay Now
Paid → Generate QR Code
👉 This ensures users only see what’s relevant
👉 Prevents confusion and wrong actions
4. Status Feedback = Trust
Each transaction shows:
Status labels (Pending, Paid, etc.)
Color indicators
Real-time updates
This gives users confidence that: 👉 The system is working and Their money is safe.
🎯 UX Goal
To design a system where users never feel lost or uncertain during a transaction.
Because in fintech: Confusion = fear
Clarity = trust
How do you think the transaction states can be improved further?

Designing trust is harder than designing interfaces.
So I broke it down into a step-by-step escrow transaction flow that protects both buyers and vendors.
After identifying the trust gap in online transactions, I focused on designing the most critical experience — “creating a transaction”.
Because if this step is confusing or unclear, users lose confidence immediately.
Here’s how I approached the flow 👇
1.Guided Transaction Setup: I designed a multi-step flow to reduce cognitive overload.
Users enter transaction title & agreement details first, then move into structured item information.
This ensures users don’t feel overwhelmed at once.
2. Structured Data Input: Instead of one long form, I broke inputs into: Item name & description, Quantity, Price and Seller details
This;
✔️ Improves clarity
✔️ Reduces input errors
✔️ Builds confidence in the process
3. Transparency Before Commitment: Before creating the transaction, users see: Full item breakdown, Seller information and Total cost (including fees)
This removes surprises and builds trust before payment.
4. Clear Progress Indicators: The step indicator at the top: Shows where users are, Reduces uncertainty and Encourages completion.
5. Strong, Focused CTA: Each screen is built around one action: Continue → Create Transaction.
No distractions. Just clarity.
UX Goal
To design an experience where users feel: In control, Informed and Protected.
Because in fintech, trust = usability + transparency.
I’m currently open to UI/UX roles where I can design secure and user-centered experiences.
QUESTION OF THE DAY:
Would you trust an escrow system like this for your transactions?

What if you could eliminate payment scams between buyers and vendors completely?
I designed a solution that builds trust before money or goods exchange hands.
One of the biggest problems in online transactions today is lack of trust.
Buyers fear paying and not receiving goods, Vendors fear delivering and not getting paid. This friction silently kills thousands of transactions daily.
So I designed a FinTech escrow mobile app that acts as a secure middle layer between both parties.
Here’s how the platform solves this problem:
Funds are held securely until delivery is confirmed.
Vendors are protected from non-payment.
Buyers are protected from scams.
Real-time transaction status (Paid, Pending, In-transit) improves transparency
From a UX perspective, I focused on:
CLARITY: Simple transaction states to reduce confusion.
TRUST SIGNALS: Clean UI, status indicators, and structured flow.
EASE OF USE: One primary action; “Create Transaction”.
The GOAL was simple:
👉 Make trust feel built-in, not assumed.
I’m currently open to UI/UX design opportunities where I can solve real-world problems like this.
What is that one trust issue you’ve experienced in online transactions?
