Envy is a sickness that starves the person who carries it. You spend all your hours looking over your neighbor's fence, counting his yams and watching his cooking pot, while your own field sits unweeded. Resenting another man's harvest puts no grain in your own basket.

You cannot raise a disciplined, respectful son through distance, lectures, and financial checks alone. Nurturing a young man into true adulthood requires your physical presence, your time, and your shared labor.

A son learns how to treat women by watching how his father speaks to his mother; he learns how to handle disappointment by watching his father fail and rise again. If you leave your son to be raised by chance, the world will light a fire in his heart that burns down your own compound.

When you owe someone something, they do not forget it, even while smiling at you. Their eyes are still checking, still measuring, still waiting for their thing back. Debt changes how people look at you, whether they say anything or not. If you do not want to be watched this way, do not borrow more than you plan to return quickly.

The laughter is easy. Fun, attraction, chemistry these are the easy seasons. What you need is someone who commits when the fun is gone, when the bills are real, when the romance has settled into responsibility. Marry the person who stays. Not the one who only shows up when the mood is right.

May this morning bring you divine favour, unexpected blessings, open doors, peace, and new opportunities. May every delay turn into a testimony, every battle end in victory, and every good thing you touch prosper.

The way you treat the generation ahead of you is the template the generation behind you is recording for how they will treat you. Every act of disrespect toward the elder is a lesson the younger is absorbing, and they will apply it faithfully when your turn comes to be the elder in the room.

The man who dismisses, disrespects, or bypasses those who came before him is not rebelling against tradition. He is authoring his own future, one in which the people behind him will see no reason to treat him differently than he treated the ones ahead of him.

Honour the elder. Not because they are always right. Because the honoring is what you want done to you. And what you do is always what gets done back.

Respect in the home is not given on arrival. It is earned through the consistency of showing up financially, emotionally, physically, and spiritually as the person the family can rely on.

The man who demands to be treated as head while providing nothing to the body he claims to lead has confused the title with the role. A head that does not nourish the body is not a head the body can trust.

Nobody is asking for perfection. They are asking for presence. For effort. For the evidence that the people in this house are your priority. Provide that not just money, but time, attention, protection, and direction. The respect follows the provision. It does not precede it.
