WHAT MOST POULTRY FARMERS WON’T TELL YOU (BUT INVESTORS SHOULD KNOW) 🐔📊
Most people only post the wins, full pens, big birds, successful sales.
But real investors don’t invest in perfection… They invest in people who understand risk and still deliver results.
(Attached are pictures many won’t show.)
A few days ago, we stepped away from the farm for just a few hours.
We came back to meet 21 broilers at sales age dead. That’s over 20% loss in less than 3 hours.
Painful? Yes.
Unexpected? Also yes.
But unrealistic? Not in this business.
Poultry farming is often misunderstood. It’s not just “rear and sell.”
It’s a high-risk, high-management venture where challenges like:
- Heat stress
- Stampede
- Disease outbreaks like Newcastle disease and Coccidiosis
- Respiratory conditions such as Chronic Respiratory Disease
…can affect returns at any time.
Here’s the difference:
Amateurs hide losses. Professionals account for them, manage them, and still stay profitable.
At ADE-T33F3H FARMS, we don’t just rear birds, We build systems:
- Structured vaccination and health management
- Controlled feeding programs
- Risk-adjusted financial planning
- Batch-based production for consistent cash flow
Because in this business, profit is not about avoiding risk, it’s about managing it better than the average farmer.
Losses happen. But discipline, experience, and structure determine long-term success.
If you’re looking to invest in agriculture, don’t look for someone who has never had a bad day.
Look for someone who understands the business well enough to survive it.

WHEN CLASSROOM KNOWLEDGE MEETS REAL LIFE 📖
Back in my NCE days at Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo, I carried out a thesis on “Phytochemical Analysis on Some Selected Medicinal Plants” under the supervision of Dr. Babajide. At the time, my goal was simply to do well and earn a good grade—and thankfully I finished with an A.
Years later, although I obtained my first degree in Physics Education, I now practice livestock farming at ADE-T33F3H FARMS. Interestingly, the same phytochemical knowledge from that research helps me apply organic methods in managing my birds—using natural mixtures like ugwu, garlic, ginger, pawpaw leaf, bitter leaf, and scent leaf to boost their health.
It’s a reminder that knowledge never truly goes to waste. Sometimes the lessons from Plan A prepare you for Plan F.
Life really has a way of connecting the dots.
What is one thing you learned in school that still helps you today? 🌱🐔

This evening I sat in front of the farmhouse, watching my flock and just thinking about life in Nigeria.
It made me realize how much still needs to be done if we truly want our country to reach a place of comfort and proper development.
One thing that struck me is this: when people are sick, many of us prefer self-medication. Almost every Nigerian home has different drugs stocked for “just in case.” From paracetamol to antibiotics, and even local herbal mixtures, what the Yoruba call àgbò. Some families I know will never visit a hospital no matter how serious the illness is. The only time you see panic is during childbirth.
Yet when it comes to other important things like education, most people will never consider homeschooling their children. Even the poorest family will try to send their kids to a government school.
So I started asking myself a question:
If we trust ourselves enough to treat illnesses at home, something as sensitive as health, why don’t we apply that same mindset to other parts of life?
Why don’t we grow more of the food we eat?
Why don’t we build stronger systems within our homes and communities?
At the same time, shouldn’t we also normalize regular medical checkups and visits to government clinics? Prevention is always better than cure.
And before someone asks, “Where will the money come from?”, sometimes it’s about priorities too. The same money people can spend on subscriptions in a few days could go a long way toward basic healthcare.
Just a random evening thought while sitting with my birds.
It was fun on the trail and afterwards yesterday
