(1 Samuel 12:20) And Samuel said unto the people, Fear not: ye have done all this wickedness: yet turn not aside from following the LORD, but serve the LORD with all your heart;

After the people of Israel had sinned and asked for a king that they might be like all the other nations, instead of rejoicing that Jehovah-God was their king, the Lord sent a thunderstorm that made them afraid. And they feared because they had asked for a king. But Samuel assured them they must continue to follow the Lord even now that he had given a king to be over them.

O Lord, there are times when we commit some great sin or make some wrong choice in life that has an effect on the rest of our lives. We may fear You will not be with us anymore. But we know that if we follow You now from where we are at, and seek forgiveness for past wrongs, You will forgive us and lead us. Amen.
