“Boys will be boys” should never be the end of the conversation.

Boys can also be leaders, caregivers, listeners, builders, and advocates for change.

This International Day of the Boy Child, we celebrate the importance of raising boys with empathy, purpose, and responsibility.

Nigeria recently approved its biggest budget EVER: ₦68.32 trillion.

But here’s the bigger story:
• ₦46 of every ₦100 spent is borrowed
• 62% of revenue still comes from oil
• ₦15.81T goes to debt repayment alone

This is more than numbers.
It’s about priorities, trade-offs, and what citizens actually feel in their daily lives.

Swipe through the breakdown and ask yourself:
Is this budget building Nigeria’s future or paying for its past?

Identity isn't an accident. It's built through institutions, conversations, and commitments that remind people who they are and what they're owed.

We just made one of those commitments official.

in partnership with , because young Nigerians deserve to know their rights, own their responsibilities, and see themselves clearly in the story of this nation.

Big thank you to DG Dr. Lanre Issa-Onilu and the incredible team at NOA. And to our own , this one has your fingerprints all over it.

If security feels distant from the people, can policing truly work?

CISD joined stakeholders at a critical conversation convened by Open Alliance Nigeria on state policing, accountability, and the future of community-responsive security in Nigeria.

Big questions. Necessary conversations.
Because safer societies are built intentionally not accidentally.

Progress grows faster when institutions work together.

At CISD, we believe partnerships are not just important, they are necessary for building stronger communities, better governance, and sustainable national development.

We’re proud to keep building collaborations that create real impact across Nigeria. 🇳🇬

Not every important conversation happens on a stage.

Some happen across tables, inside meetings, and between partners committed to doing meaningful work.

CISD recently visited the Heinrich Böll Foundation as we discussed the next phase of our debt project and the work ahead.

Still building. Still asking hard questions. Still pushing for governance people can actually understand.

CISD was represented at a Digital Security & Data Protection training by our team member,

One important reminder from the sessions: civil society organisations handle sensitive community data every day and protecting that data is a responsibility we cannot ignore.

As the civic space becomes more digital, digital literacy and security are no longer optional.

Nigeria’s civic space is under pressure — from funding gaps to institutional fragility.

Our team joined the launch of “Trapped in Fragility” by WACSI Node Nigeria, where one message stood out: stronger civil society requires stronger collaboration and resilience.

At CISD, we remain committed to building systems that strengthen accountability and inclusion.
