In 2018, the BBC published a story of one Mary John in a remote village with a dream of being the first graduate in her family some day.
In the post, the BBC tagged Slum2School, a volunteer-driven development organization transforming the society by empowering underserved children in slums and remote communities with quality education, entrepreneurial skills, and psychosocial support to enable them to realize their full potential and become social reformers.
Here is how opportunity meet preparation. For six years, Mary worked as a class room teacher, prepared herself and realized her dream in the process.
And after five years, with support of the organization, Mary graduated as one of the best students from Benson Idahosa University 💃💃🥳🥳🥳
Her achievement reminds us that there's no force as powerful as someone who's determined to succeed. It also reminds us that, our dreams are achievable.
