The 1900s phrase and ideology that 'The Customer Is Always Right' is as fallacious as it is misguiding. I've heard arguments that it shouldn't be taken literally but, it still is. Today, the fear of backlashes has made many , , , etc. paranoid about how to handle customers they would rather not serve. That puts who interface with customers under incredible pressure as well. It's 2020. Customers Are Not Always Right, and we should change the narrative rather than keep trying to spin it.

A Service Tip for Business Owners
Dear MD/CEO,
It's not enough to empathize with your customers during this very testing period. Do things to show you care. Anything as simple as sending a message of hope in any form - letter, SMS, email etc - will build a stronger connection with your customers. What that arguably guarantees is loyalty for life and its attendant economic value-addition to your business. Customers like to feel loved.
One more tip: Please don't keep this to yourself. Help others save their businesses by sharing. As they say, 'sharing is caring'.
