I have always said it right from the the first day I watch Zubimendi that he is not a proper holding midfielder. He can play well when played in front of a holding Midfielder like Rice is being played.

As for a holding 4, Zubimendi is not that player. A holding 4 must has a midfield presence. He controls and dictates the midfield and connect the midfield to the attack.

This Zubimendi lack. Rice has been covering up for him and Arteta and himself has been forcing it.

It high time Arteta come to this knowledge and make Skelly permanent of that position. Skelly has proven himself. He owns the midfield. He has the presence. He cant play and you see the midfield lagging.

Does that mean Zubimendi is a bad player. Nop. But he is not a proper holding DM. Watch his matches he does well up front but performs woeful as a holding Midfielder.
