MEET HETTY GREEN,
THE MOST STINGY WOMAN IN HISTORY.

Hetty Green...the most stingy woman in history, her wealth is estimated at more than $2.3 billion. Hetty Greene was born in America in 1835. She was the only daughter of a wealthy businessman.

She inherited from her father a fortune estimated at $7.5 million. When she was twenty-one years old, she moved to live in New York to invest her money in Wall Street and was called the Wicked Witch of Wall Street.

She married a millionaire like herself, but still lived on leftover cakes and broken biscuits in grocery stores and argued to get a free bone for her dog every day!! Hetty Greene was a very miserable woman. She sewed underpants when she was 16 years old and did not change them or buy others until the day of her death.

She never spent a penny, so it was said that she never used hot water, that she wore a black dress that she did not change until it was completely worn out, and that she lived on eating a pie that cost only two cents.

Hetty caused her son to amputate his leg because when he broke it, she delayed treating it because she insisted not to She spent no money and kept looking for free medical attention.

Hetty Greene died in 1916 at the age of 81 in New York City, and was entered in the Guinness Book of World Records as the “most stingy person in the world.”

The cause of her death was a stroke due to a quarrel with her maid because the maid asked for an increase in her meager salary.

She died and left behind a huge fortune, and her children did not inherit her extreme stinginess, but rather they were generous to the point that her daughter built a free hospital with her money!!

A LIVING LEGEND. UNSUNG HEROINE.
THE WOMAN WHO STARTED THE POPULAR MAMMY MARKET.

It was in 1959. Mammy Ode, a young girl from Jericho-Ugboju in the present Otukpo Local Government Area of Benue State, was married to Anthony Aboki Ochefu, a young Non-Commissioned military officer who had just been posted to Enugu from Abeokuta.

They were quartered at the Army Barracks, Abakpa, Enugu. To beat idleness and perhaps earn some money to support her young family, Mrs. Mammy Ochefu established a soft drinks business. She prepared gruel, which is called umu or enyi in Idoma, or kunu in Hausa, for sale to soldiers. She soon became popular with her delicacy as soldiers trooped to her house to buy enyi. Some of her best customers were officers, who always sent their batmen to buy some of the gruel for them, Monday through Friday.

Somehow, one of the Non-Commissioned Officers, the RSM, did not flow with the enthusiasm which Mammy’s gruel generated among other military men in the barracks. He complained that Mrs. Ochefu's popular foodstuff attracted flies into the barracks, and ordered Mrs. Mammy Ochefu to stop its production and sale. Though surprised and disappointed at the order of the RSM, she stopped the production and sale of enyi.

Her husband, not being an officer at the time, could not challenge the order of the RSM. For weeks, Mrs. Mammy Ochefu agonized over the fate of her business, just as officers and men of the Nigerian Army who enjoyed her enyi because of its freshness and nutritional value lamented the situation. From several quarters, pressure mounted on the RSM for a reversal of the order. After a while, he succumbed to the pressures and directed that a section of the barracks be reserved for Mrs. Mammy Ochefu to produce and sell her enyi. Her joy knew no bounds.

Few days after, a section of the barracks was given to her. She built a small shop and soon, her business began to boom. Most of her customers booked for their shares in advance.
Mammy Ode's stall quickly became a hub of activity, with her kunu in high demand. Other women within the barracks followed suit, setting up stalls and diversifying their offerings.
The sector of the barracks housing this bustling marketplace came to be known as "Mammy Market.Over time, Mammy Markets expanded beyond individual barracks to military installations across Nigeria.
The influence of Mammy Markets extended beyond the military, reaching National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) camps and even some educational institutions, where areas for food sales were colloquially referred to as "Mammy Market.

MY BEST FRIEND DECEIVED ME, NOW SHE IS MARRIED TO HIM.
Who can be trusted? The world is full of people who only on the outward admires and love you, but deep down inside them they are patiently waiting for the perfect time to eliminate you.
My name is Mary 28, and I have a bestie Chioma, indeed she is a sister from another mother that was how I regarded her until she really proved to me an enemy. There is nothing I do without carrying Chioma along, she knows all my plans, knows my parents, my siblings I mean everything about me, she can indeed predict me and be 98% of the time correct.

Then came Steve a tall lanky and handsome young man, Steve fair in complexion with great looks, works with one of these international NGO’s, his outward appearance indicates that life is good to him, from the cars he drives, the cloths he puts on and most especially the way he carry’s himself, surely he must the kind of a guy that will have all the ladies fighting each other just to get him.

Steve and I ran into each other at a supermarket and one thing led to another we exchanged contacts; I think the greatest mistake I made was telling Chioma and also introducing Steve to her. Steve kept asking me out and I kept turning him down, he promised me love and other material things, he brought me gifts, yet I kept turning him down.

My friend Chioma kept asking me not to sign in with him, not to appear cheap to him, that I should keep playing hard to get, that if he truly loves me as he said, he will keep coming no matter how long I keep him waiting. I never knew that there is a limit to how long love can wait, I never know that I was being deceived.

NEVER UNDERESTIMATE ANYONE!!
(The Story Of Stratford University)
A woman in a cheap cotton dress and her husband dressed in a modest suit got off the train in Boston and walked timidly (without an appointment), to the office of the President of Harvard University.
The secretary guessed at one point that those farmworkers from the woods, had nothing to do at Harvard.
- We would like to see the president, the man said softly.
- He's busy, replied the secretary.
- We'll wait, the woman replied. For hours the secretary ignored them waiting for the couple to finally get discouraged and leave, but they didn't and the secretary saw her frustration increase and finally decided to interrupt the president, even though it was a task she always avoided.
- Maybe if you talk to them for a few minutes they will leave, the secretary said to the President of the University. He made a face of displeasure but accepted, someone of his importance obviously didn't have time to deal with people in cheap dresses and suits. However, the president with a rough frown, but with dignity, headed in an arrogant step towards the couple.
The woman said to him:
- We had a son who attended Harvard for only one year, he loved Harvard and was happy here, but a year ago he died in an accident. My husband and I wish to pick something up somewhere on campus that is in memory of our son.
The president didn't care and said:
- Madam, we can't put a statue for every person who attends Harvard and dies, if we did, this place would look like a cemetery.
- Oh no, the woman explained quickly:
We don't wish to erect a statue, we thought we'd like to donate a building to Harvard.
The president rolled his eyes, took a look at the couple's cheap dress and suit and then exclaimed:
- A building! , does anyone have any idea how much a building costs? , we've spent over $7.5 million on buildings here at Harvard!. For a moment the woman was silent and the president was happy because maybe they could be rid of them now.
The woman turned to her husband and said softly:
- Does it cost so little to start a University? , why don't we start our own?. Then her husband agreed and the president's face darkened in confusion and bewilderment. The mr. Leland Stanford and his wife stopped and left, traveling to Palo Alto California, where they established the University bearing his name, Stanford University, in memory of a son Harvard was not interested in.
Leland Stanford Junior University was opened in 1891, in Palo Alto.. “Junior” because it was in honor of the late son of the rich landowner. That was their "memorial" and today Stanford University is number one in the world, just above Harvard.
How easy it is to JUDGE by appearances and how easy it is to be mistaken by.. Judge them by their Appearances!!
