A new digital billboard has been installed at Okapuka Roadblock, a key entry point into Windhoek to amplify road safety awareness where it matters most. Positioned along one of the busiest routes into the capital, the screen delivers impactful messaging designed to encourage responsible driving, heightened alertness, and respect for all road users.

The installation was carried out with support from Optimistic Media Group, using media innovation to help make Namibia’s roads safer for everyone.

Optimistic Media Group proudly planned and coordinated the NRSC 5km Walk and 10km Run held in commemoration of UN Global Road Safety Week under the theme, “Make Walking and Cycling Safe.”

The event marked a major milestone in promoting road safety awareness, healthy living, and safer mobility for all road users across Namibia. It brought together members of the public, stakeholders, partners, and road safety advocates in a united call for safer streets and more responsible road use.

Beyond coordinating the event, members of the Optimistic Media Group team also actively participated in the walk and run in support of the road safety cause, demonstrating our commitment not only behind the scenes, but on the ground as advocates for safer communities.

We are proud to have contributed to an initiative that encourages dialogue, action, and awareness around the importance of protecting pedestrians and cyclists on our roads.

The Optimistic team was recently at ScaleUp Namibia as part of the production process for an upcoming corporate video for the National Commission on Research, Science and Technology (NCRST).
