World Heart Rhythm Week

World Heart Rhythm Week (WHRW) is an annual global campaign held to raise awareness about arrhythmias (irregular heart rhythms).
It aims to promote the detection and diagnosis of heart rhythm disorders through simple actions like checking your pulse.

Checking your pulse manually is a simple, cost-effective way to catch an irregular heartbeat early.

How to Check Your Pulse
1. Place your index and middle fingers on the inside of your wrist, just below the base of your thumb.
2. Count the beats you feel for 30 seconds, then multiply that number by 2 to get your beats per minute (bpm).
3. A normal resting pulse for an adult is typically between 60 and 100 bpm.

Key Symptoms to Recognize
Many people live with heart rhythm disorders—such as Atrial Fibrillation (AFib)—without knowing it.

You should consult a healthcare professional if you frequently experience:
* Palpitations (a fluttering or racing heartbeat)
* Dizziness or lightheadedness
* Fainting or feeling faint (syncope)
* Unexplained fatigue or shortness of breath
