The Opportunity
Are you a budget-conscious culinary professional who knows how to maximize value without compromising on taste?
Brousse Recruitment is seeking an efficient and cost-effective Head Chef for a luxury property located just outside of Windhoek. This role is ideal for a practical leader who excels at smart kitchen management, clever ingredient sourcing, and maintaining a lean, highly productive culinary operation. You will be responsible for keeping kitchen overheads low while ensuring our guests enjoy delicious, beautifully presented daily meals.
Key Responsibilities
Cost-Effective Menu Planning: Design creative, appealing menus focused on high-yield, affordable ingredients and seasonal local produce.
Strict Budget Control: Manage all kitchen purchasing with a sharp focus on minimizing food costs, reducing waste, and maximizing profitability.
Kitchen Leadership: Supervise, train, and motivate the kitchen team to work efficiently and maintain high standards of cleanliness.
Stock Management: Keep tight control over inventory, portions, and supplier negotiations to ensure maximum cost efficiency.
What We Are Looking For
Proven experience as a Head Chef or strong Sous Chef, preferably within a lodge or hospitality environment.
A track record of excellent financial discipline and meeting strict food cost targets.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to run a tight, waste-free kitchen operation.
A hardworking, adaptable attitude suited for a live-in property.
