That is the face of a kitten who has decided her new mom and dad are her entire universe. 😻💖✨

Her mommy says, she’s thriving, busy, and full of energy —which is a polite way of saying she’s doing parkour across the furniture and they’re applauding. 🚀

Thank you to the Marques family for giving this beautiful rescue girl the best home possible. She is one lucky kitty — and clearly, she knows it. 🐾💖✨

P. S. We have not yet spoken to the big tuxedo brother… but we suspect he has opinions.🐈‍⬛🐾

🐾 𝗔 𝘁𝗶𝗻𝘆 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗻𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘀𝘂𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱

This afternoon, Nellye’s condition began to deteriorate despite every effort. We held on, hoping her little body would find strength it simply didn’t have left. 😔
The seizures came one after another — stronger, closer, relentless — until her fragile body could no longer fight.💔

With hearts far too heavy, the vets and our team made the only compassionate choice left:
to let her go gently, without further pain. 😪💔

She should have grown up safe.
She should have known warmth, not terror.
She should have been protected by humans — not destroyed by their neglect.

🐾 Fly high above the sky, little angel.
We are so deeply sorry for every moment of fear and pain that humans caused you.💔

📢 And here is the truth people don’t want to face:

Nellye is not a rare tragedy.
She is the result of overpopulation.
She is 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘂𝗹𝘁 𝗼𝗳 “𝗳𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗸𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘀” 𝗻𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗱 — victims of unwanted litters, abandoned and left to fend for themselves.
She was lucky to be found.
Many are not. 😪

Nellye’s story is a quiet call for compassion:

𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗜𝘀 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗛𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗻𝘀 𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗻 ‘𝗙𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗞𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘀’ 𝗔𝗿𝗲 𝗡𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗱‼️

This kitten was found in one of Windhoek’s dry rivers — barely responsive. 🚨

Nelly, a devoted cat lover in the township who even trains his own cats, reached out to us the moment his cousin found her. 😔
The video he sent made it heartbreakingly clear that something was very wrong. Her movements showed signs of possible seizures or head trauma. 💔

We rushed to the location and took her straight to Windhoek Veterinary Clinic, where Dr. Hester was already waiting.
Together with Dr. Inez she was stabilised and they began hydrating her fragile little body, giving her the first real chance she’s had since birth. 😪

We named her Nellye 🌺 , after the man who cared enough to act. 😻
Now we wait, hope, and fight for her recovery. 🤞🏻

📢 𝗕𝘂𝘁 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲'𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝘁𝗵:

Nellye is one of thousands of kittens suffering - she was lucky enough to be found— suffering, but alive - because of a cycle that started long before they were born. 😔

The overpopulation we see today is the direct result of 𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗼𝗳 “𝗳𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗸𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘀” 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗱.

Those kittens grow up, have more kittens, and those kittens have more kittens… until the dry rivers, streets, and backyards are filled with tiny lives struggling to survive. 💔

Sterilisation stops this cycle.
It prevents kittens from being born into danger, neglect, and suffering.
It is the single most powerful act of compassion we have.
