We're back with another exciting episode of Emilyβs Health! π¬
In this episode, we talk about some of the latest developments in HIV treatment as well as the myths surrounding HIV and how some relatives still tell their children that the ARVs they are taking are just multivitamins.
At Osaat Africa Health Foundation, we are committed to making sexual and reproductive health education accessible and impactful. Science has proven that health education is better retained when communicated in local languages.
Our latest video continues to break down barriers, providing vital information in languages that resonate with local communities, ensuring everyone can engage and make informed decisions. Our subtitles ensure that we cater to the deaf to ensure inclusivity. We are proud to offer content that includes and empowers women. Let's continue to create positive change together!

On Saturday, 18th January 2025, we held a volunteer training workshop on how to educate women and girls on various sexual and reproductive health/women's health topics π
We believe in peer to peer training. We taught the volunteers (who are students, community leaders, street vendors, accountants, lawyers, etc) about contraceptives, breast cancer, and STDs. We taught them how to teach these topics in a basic manner that is understandable and retainable and how to ensure that they teach the women in a manner that is engaging.
At the end of the training, we hosted a group assessment where volunteers were placed in groups of 3 and had to present on the 3 topics taught as though they were teaching a group of women in rural Namibia. The winning team walked away with grocery vouchers of N$1000 each.
We are excited for what lies ahead this year! Our goal is to make an IMPACT in women's health.
One of the things we boast about the most is our volunteers! With a volunteer base of over 100 people, all our work is done by our amazing volunteers, and we would not be able to impact lives without them. Thank you.

Our first IUCD clinic in a village! π
Whilst inserting the IUD, we noticed that a majority of the women had substances packed in their vaginas. The issue with some of these traditional substances is that they are believed to act as a contraceptive, yet these women are still falling pregnant.
Our copper IUCD clinic in Bunya Village, Kavango West, became a turning point for 188 households across 9 communities. In a region burdened by myths, poverty, and limited healthcare, we provided life-changing contraceptive options and reproductive health education in their native language.
One story speaks volumes: a 32-year-old mother of nine, already a grandmother, represents the urgent need for accessible healthcare. Her story is a reminder of why we do what we doβto break cycles of poverty and create pathways for healthier, brighter futures.
At OSAAT Africa Health Foundation we believe every woman deserves access to healthcare that empowers her to make informed decisions about her body and her future.
This impact was only possible thanks to our incredible volunteers, partners, and the resilient women who trusted us to stand with them. Together, we are proving that quality healthcare for all is not just a visionβitβs a reality in the making.
