This week, six (6) trainees are attending the Public Sector Management Training Programme.

The programme, accredited at Level 7 by the Namibia Qualifications Authority (NQA) spans 12 months and is specifically designed to accommodate working professionals.

The course aims to equip participants with advanced management competencies required to perform effectively at senior management level within the Namibian public sector. It promotes professionalism, effectiveness, and efficiency in the formulation and implementation of government policies and programmes, as well as in the management of human resources and public finances. Ultimately, the programme seeks to strengthen good governance and enhance the quality of service delivery across the public sector.

Upon successful completion of the programme, participants will be able to apply fundamental management principles and tools to analyse and communicate complex public sector management issues. They will also demonstrate a sound understanding of public governance structures, policy formulation processes, and policy implementation within the Namibian public sector.

“Citizens want institutions they can trust”

Minister of Gender Equality and Child Welfare honourable Emma Kantema, said citizens are asking hard questions, and mad rightly so. Because they want services that work and institutions they can trust.
She was speaking during the AMDIN second annual conference hosted by NIPAM on Tuesday
“They want leadership that is ethical, accountable, and people-centred. In short, they want a public service that not only manages systems, but transforms lives. That’s why the 8th a administration under the leadership of HE Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has coined a term PIAMI as values to deliver on the mandate our sovereigns have entrusted us with,” she said.
Adding that the conversations taking place at the AMDIN conference matter so much, because governance and ethical leadership are not abstract ideals.
