Remember our bees? We now have 4 hives - all swarms caught at our premises. The apiary is in a secured area as wildlife (baboons and honey badgers) as well as poaching unfortunately can become a bit of a problem.
We are learning so much and look forward to passing on the knowledge to anyone interested to learn. Hopefully we will be able to harvest a bit of honey after the upcoming Acacia flower period and serve it to our guests. Pure honey at its best

This is Dev - our young light colored ostrich. She unfortunately lost one eye but is fine otherwise. She is currently not with the other 6 as they still do not accept her and she needs to learn to live with one eye only. As you can see, she is managing quite well and has started to dance again :)

Remember our ostriches? They are now 7 - Eany, Meany, Miny, Mo, Grinch, Andrea and Dev. All but Dev are living outside in their own camp, very close to home. They get supplement feeding in the morning and evening, where our guests are welcome to watch and take beautiful pictures. When being at the ostriches we ask our guests to please not enter their enclosure - for safety reasons.
