IMPORTANT NOTICE TO OUR GUESTS

It was with great sadness that we learned yesterday of confirmed cases of Foot and Mouth Disease in Namibia.

Nauams is not only a tourism destination — we are also a working commercial cattle and sheep farm. The health and protection of our livestock is extremely important to us, and we have therefore taken immediate precautionary measures to minimise any possible risk.

As part of these measures, we are moving our livestock away from human contact wherever possible and have locked all farm gates. Unfortunately, this means that some of our hiking and cycling trails will be temporarily affected.

We kindly ask all our guests to:
• Please respect all fences, closed and locked gates — do not climb over or open them.
• Make use of disinfectant wherever available and practise good biosecurity when travelling between farms and different areas.
• Please do not approach or attempt to interact with our cattle or sheep.
• Most importantly, please do not panic, overreact or spread unverified information.

Namibia’s veterinary authorities are working hard to manage the situation, and we have confidence in the guidance being provided. We will continue to follow all official instructions and adapt our measures where necessary.

Nauams remains open and welcoming guests. 🌿

We simply ask for your understanding and cooperation while we do everything possible to protect our animals, our farm and the wider farming community.
