New hub set up to streamline disaster relief efforts across Sabah KOTA KINABALU: A hub has been formed by the Institute for Development Studies (IDS) Sabah to centralise disaster relief efforts across the state, says its chief executive officer Datuk Dr Ramzah Dambul.

TAMPARULI: Flood victims in this area continue to receive the attention of non-governmental organisations (NGOs) that tirelessly work at distributing food and beverage assistance to them.

T-Mew Collection, Persatuan Unduk Ngadau Sabah - UNS and the Sabah Four Wheel Drive Association (SFWDA) joined forces to support 132 families of flood victims in Kampung Sg Damit and Tanjung.

Representing PUNS, Ellyanti P Nelson, said the aim of sending food and beverage assistance was to lessen the burden experienced by residents after the flood disaster.

"Even though the flood has passed, the lives of the affected residents have not fully recovered because they still find it difficult to get out to make a living because they are busy cleaning their homes from the effects of the flood.

'As a step to reduce their burden, we deliver food and beverage assistance to them,' she said.

Representative of T Mew Collection Tuaran, Seriah Basir also said, the funds and items sent are donations from the public that are collected to help the needy.

Members from The Sabah Four Wheel Drive Association, led by Expedition Leader Anthony Wong, provided logistical assistance for volunteers to reach the affected villages.
