For decades, crossing the Batang Lupar River meant long queues at the ferry terminal, with journeys taking between 30 to 45 minutes, sometimes even longer during bad weather or mechanical disruptions.

That chapter changed on Thursday, 21 May, with the official opening of the Batang Lupar First Bridge, connecting Sebuyau and Maludam across one of Sarawak’s widest rivers.

Spanning 4.844 kilometres, the bridge is now Malaysia’s longest river-crossing bridge. Built to JKR R5 standards, it features a two-lane single carriageway designed to improve connectivity, mobility, and economic growth for surrounding communities.

Its impressive cable-stayed main span stretches 598.8 metres, with a navigational clearance of 250 metres wide and 26 metres high, ensuring smooth passage for river traffic beneath.

What once required up to 45 minutes by ferry can now be completed in just around five minutes by car, a transformational change for the people of Sarawak.

Alhamdulillah, walaupun terdapat beberapa pindaan peraturan operasi haji 1447H/2026M oleh Kerajaan Arab Saudi, kebajikan dan kesihatan jemaah tetap menjadi keutamaan TH.

Bagi musim haji tahun ini, seramai 224 petugas perubatan KKM bertugas di Tanah Suci, termasuk lebih ramai pakar perubatan serta gabungan petugas berpengalaman dan baharu.

The Hire Purchase Act 1967 is a Malaysian law that protects people who buy vehicles or goods using installment payments (loan + monthly payment system).
