-In 1872,American Medical Association resolved that "The honor of discovery of practical
Anesthesia is due to the late Dr.Horace Wells of Connecticut. "
-Dr. Horace Wells was a dentist. He used N2O.
-Another dentist,Dr.Morton,publicly Demo GA at Harvard.He used ether.
-The ether monument in Boston was erected to honor Dr. Morgan.
-Malaya had its first GA operation, using ether in Malacca hospital on 26/3/1847.
-GA discovered by dentists is now by Physicians. L.A discovered by medical doctors is now mainly used by dentists.

-GA is a major discovery in medicine.

Best not > 1 hour in private practice.
-Any difference in dosage between child and adult?
No difference!
-G.P should not use I.V. sedation.
- Premixed 50:50 N2O and Oxygen not acceptable in Dental practice, b'cos can't be titrated.

-Interesting to know......
-N2O can be used on All patients.
-N2O like Nitrogen and Argon is inert and Harmless.They are natural components of air.
-But,whatever taken for long time is bad.
-Even 100% O2,taken for long time is harmful.
-No fasting needed for N2O anxiolysis.
-Patient is conscious in N2O anxiolysis.
-Vomiting will not occur in anxiolysis.
- Vomiting is no big deal in conscious patients.
