A total of 9,007 residents were affected after about 1,000 stilt houses were destroyed in a fire at Kampung Bahagia here early today.

FIRST BOOK DELIVERY FOR 2026. 188 books collected by a friend of BBP, Beth de Guzman, founder of the Sinar Sandakan Alternative Learning Centre (ALC). Tucked away in the town's outskirts at Kampung Bamboo, the ALC delivers basic education to 50-60 children of various ages. A WARM THANK YOU to Beth for collecting the books but moreover, your tireless and fearless dedication to our communities.

ON THIS NEW YEAR'S EVE... We would like to extend our gratitude to numerous lovely kind people out there who helped us throughout 2025... drum roll... Leonard, Patricia, Mitchell, Janet, Singa.... TOTAL COUNT FOR 2025 is 2,482 for 20 schools and learning centres in Sabah and Sarawak.. BBP 1.0 + 2.0 have now delivered 22,788 books to over 40 schools and learning centres for both stateless and local children.

LAWAS OUR SECOND HOME with Pat and Janet... Books bound for METS Lawas.. Caught up with Singa who will be delivering books for us, bought Pompiah from favourite bakery and rice and corn from the market.... made new friends..... Always wonderful to be back.

THANK YOU SINGA for liaising with METS Lawas - we decided that the recent delivery is to be shared between Lawas and Buduk Aru in Ba'Kelalan. BBP'S LATEST.... DELIVERED around 260 preloved hardbacks etc bound for METS (Malaysia Evangelical Theological Seminary) in Buduk Aru Ba' Kelalan Sarawak... Singa Buas was in Lawas to receive the 9 boxes and will be responsible for the last lag of the journey from Lawas to Buduk Aru.
