We are unable to have our own room at NIAVS 2026 (Northern International Audio & Visual Show, Penang, Malaysia) due to resources issues, family priorities, and not aggravating current back problem I have.

However, AA Audio products are in use at NIAVS 2026:

- AA SiG XT USB Cable in Statement System's room

- AARS (Roon Server), AA SiG XT USB Cable, and AA SiG XT RCA cable in JW Speaker Lab's room (their flagship stereo speakers)

The journey started in Feb 2023. I had opportunity to have a reviewer in NY test my USB cables. He let his friend, also in NY, to hear it in his system. So I had feedback from 2 persons / 2 systems. After tweaks and improvements, better cables were sent, twice in 2024. Additional feedback received means more tweaks and improvements. In Jan 2025, AA SiG Mk2 version USB cables were sent and this was the final iteration. The link below is the end results.

We will be at WAVE Audio & Visual Experience 2025. The product highlight is AARS, a high-end music server designed to run Roon.

AARS prototype was unveiled during NIAV 2025 in Penang last April. In early July, we compared AARS with a very high-end Roon Server from the Netherlands. It was close, but this inspired us to push AARS further by tweaking AARS power supply and operating system. We learn how Roon operates by digesting its log files. The operating system tweaks were challenging and took us months.

The good news is we are done with the tweaks. Please come and visit us at Level 16.

- custom ISO for Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC
- Mundorf Silver Gold wires for motherboard and CPU
- Audio Note UK pure silver wires for USB2 Isolator 5V power
- new settings for our USB2 Isolator
- no fuse (yes no fuses)

Please visit us at room B08 and hear the differences between using the ubiquitous Intel NUC (aka Roon Nucleus) as Roon Server versus using AARS as Roon Server. The Intel NUC7i5BNH (7th generation Core i5) is powered by 19V LPSU. Please note that most Roon users are using Intel NUC as that is the recommendation by Roon, especially for use with ROCK.

Unfortunately during the first day, a visitor took pictures of the system's side/back view with one foot behind Torus and stepped on the JL f113 subwoofer power cable, causing the IEC plug to come out partially loose while the f113 was still running. The f113 subwoofer is no longer operational now. We can only demo using Focal Diablo Utopia bookshelf speakers running as full range.

AA Roon Server is ready for demo during NIAVS 2025. This is really a last minute build and the first time we use a motherboard with a separate 12V rail for CPU.

AARS uses mini ITX industrial motherboard (meant for 24 x 7 operation) and Intel Core i5-12400 CPU with passive cooling.
