THE BLOODY MOON IS BACK!

The Malaysian Space Agency announced that a lunar eclipse is happening tomorrow when the moon is very very close to us. It is said to be visible after sunset here.

Watch out for it and while you're at it, also watch out for announcements of programmes for the next OPEN: A Weekend in Penang!

Khaw Sia is a China born artist who migrated to Penang and made this place his home. He graduated from the Sung Hua Academy in 1932 in Shanghai where he met Xu BeiHong, one of the most famous Chinese brush artists ever lived who commended highly on his work. . This painting of belongs to a friend , hoping to share the stories behind this and other paintings by him at O:PEN A Weeeknd in Penang . . Looking for other collectors

Yayasan Sime Darby Arts Festival is returning in 2016!

From August 2015 onwards, do expect a whole host of arts offerings leading up to the mammoth finale that is due to happen on 20 & 21 August 2016! This time around, artistes will get to shape the programme through Pitch Start - a platform to submit project ideas and proposals.

Yes, they are now on the hunt for the brightest and most creative talents in Malaysia, to make the second installation of the festival bigger and better! Artistes can submit their own interpretation of the festival theme, Arts Education + The Future, in any language or genre. Winners will not only receive funding to bring their ideas to fruition, but will also have the chance to premiere it at the festival’s weekend grand finale in August 2016!
