The Universe of Us
Set within the lobby lounge of the restored colonial Art Deco elegance of The Capitol Kempinski Hotel Singapore, this framed textile artwork reflects the diverse cultures that orbit around Singapore’s heritage.
Handwoven in fine filament silk and lurex metallic threads, the songket artpiece celebrates the influences of Peranakan, Malay and Chinese cultures through a contemporary expression of craft, place and identity.
This Mother’s Day, celebrate her with something handcrafted and made with love.
Enjoy 20% off Tanoti Foods and 15% off all other items, only at The Spring Shopping Mall. Promotion ends Sunday, 10 May.
Gula Apong, a coastal treasure of Sarawak, unfolds in notes of deep, subtle salted caramel.
Drawn from the Nipah palm (Nypa fruticans) that thrives along mangroves and shorelines, its sap is carefully tapped, then slow-cooked and stirred for hours until it transforms into a rich syrup or solid sugar. Nearly 10kg of sap is needed to yield just 1kg of Gula Apong.
A labour of patience, shaped by land, tide, and tradition.

Heirloom rice from the highlands, where land, people, and tradition move as one.
Beras Merah (long grain) is rich in fibre and minerals, supporting blood sugar control.
Beras Adan (short grain) is prized for its soft, fragrant, gently sticky texture.
Beras Labah-labah (short grain) is rare and minimally processed, retaining its bran nutrients.
Beras Hitam (long grain) is rich in antioxidants, supporting overall well-being.
Grown in Long Banga, Ulu Baram, these grains are living heritage, cultivated by Saban and Kayan farmers across generations.
As Gawai approaches, they mark a harvest of resilience, community, and continuity.

Long before the century old longhouse stood, there were people, stories, and threads.
At Penom Longhouse, generations of weavers have carried ancestral knowledge, shaping identity through every strand. They graciously open their home to welcome new voices, new exchanges, and new connections.
This is the cradle of the Borneo Interwoven movement.
Something meaningful is weaving its way across Borneo… 🌿✨
We’re proud to officially unveil Borneo Interwoven 2026: Jalinan Borneo – a gathering of Southeast Asia’s finest artisans, thinkers, and cultural practitioners, coming together to celebrate heritage, innovation, and connection.
This is more than an event – it’s a movement to reconnect, relearn, and reimagine the value of our crafts.
