π The bridge connecting Kota Samarahan directly to Demak Laut / Sejingkat is looking closer and closer to completion!
Recent progress on the construction has become increasingly visible, and it seems the official opening may not be too far away. Once completed, travelling from Samarahan to Demak Laut and Sejingkat will become far more convenient, without the need to take long detours around the city.

π Batang Lupar 2 Bridge β This impressive 870-metre-long bridge features a towering 145-metre main pylon, equivalent to approximately a 40-storey building! It has officially become one of the tallest cable-stayed bridges in Malaysia, creating a truly breathtaking presence across the river.
For many years, crossing the Batang Lupar River was closely associated with ferry services β΄οΈ. Today, with the bridge construction progressing steadily, the project is set to significantly reduce travel time while also symbolising another major milestone in Sarawakβs infrastructure development.
From an aerial view, the massive bridge towers look incredibly majestic, giving a real sense of Sarawak entering a new era of mega infrastructure projects.
Over the past few years, Sarawak has continued accelerating the development of major bridges, highways, ART systems, deep-sea ports, and other large-scale projects. The pace of development is becoming increasingly remarkable, and transportation connectivity across East Malaysia is expected to become more efficient and convenient in the future. π§β¨

The addition of six new BAS.MY Kuching bus routes π is more than just adding a few extra lines on the map β it is about creating stronger connectivity between communities and improving daily mobility for the people.
For daily commuters travelling between Kuching and Samarahan, including office workers and students, this is certainly a positive development. With better public transportation options available, people may no longer need to rely entirely on driving, while also helping to gradually ease traffic congestion during peak hours. π
More importantly, improvements in public transportation can also stimulate the growth of nearby commercial areas and local economies, making more places accessible, vibrant, and convenient for the public.
Sometimes, the introduction of a single bus route is not merely a transportation upgrade β it can directly improve the quality of life for the community. Hopefully, BAS.MY will continue expanding its network and increasing service frequency in the future, encouraging more people to choose public transportation as their preferred mode of travel. π
