I saw this headline few days ago and it caught my eye. A headline like this is reason why CRITICAL ILLNESS cover is very important.
Dignity in the event of Disability. The payout can be used to engage professional caregivers to take care of us, without being a burden, while we focus on recuperating. Not sure if you have enough? PM me and
We wish speedy recovery to our former national athlete.

A few days ago, I wrote about the differences between medical cover and critical illness cover, and how both are important and serve a different purpose. Go to my page and check it out if you have not read it. Like and follow my page so you don’t miss out anymore.
Today, I’m sharing with you info from https://www.prudential.com.my/en/we-do-pulse/all-stories/4-considerations-when-buying-a-critical-illness-plan/ explaining what are the things you need to consider when getting a critical illness cover. With so many different types out there, it can really get confusing. Here I summarize the key points. Click the link for more detailed explanation.
1) KNOW HOW MUCH IS ENOUGH - this is dependent on your monthly expenses. 60 months (or 5 years) is recommended. Averagely, this is usually the time required for someone to recuperate from a critical illness.
2) TYPE OF PLAN TO CHOOSE - regardless of which company, you can choose between Early stage plans (pays out regardless of illness staging), Basic plans (only pays out when illness is severe / late stage), Multi-pay plans (multiple payouts upon diagnosis, important for relapse) or Single-pay plans (lump sum payment upon diagnosis and plan ends there and then).
3) FAMILY HISTORY - if there is high incidence in family, then a multi-pay plan may be considered.
4) UNDERSTAND WAITING PERIOD / SURVIVAL PERIOD - check how long is the waiting period (the grace period before the plan comes into effect) and if there is a Survival period (how long one must survive after diagnosis to be able to claim)
I’ll be sharing info about waiting period in the coming post. Pls like the page and follow so you don’t miss it and stay updated!
4 Considerations for a Critical Illness Plan For basic hospital bills, your insurance policy has you covered. But if hit by a life-threatening illness, a critical illness plan is best.
